Semi-long time lurker that's not used to creating and using memes here. Just feeling numb. This is my wife and I's second flood in less than 2 years here. The first time, it was about 3 inches and our neighbors didn't flood. This time, we had many people in our neighborhood flood.
Just wanted to let everyone here know that going through memes here is what helps my day to day so thanks from this lurkerbro.

Just wanted to clarify, before the last flood, the neighborhood had never flooded. We are in Flood Zone X [the best you can be in in the area I live]. The problem is Street flooding from flash flood event. Storm water drainage is getting worse the more lowland areas are raised to make way for new cookie cutter subdivisions.

There are companies that will raise your house and build a higher foundation to prevent this. Just have to weigh the cost/equity
