2nd morning in my new apartment, go to start my car to take my dog to the dog park, and it sounds like I don't have a muffler. Take it to my brother's shop, and boom - no catalytic converter.
At least I wasn't already worried about affording rent here or anything, so a few thousand dollars in auto repairs on my 2002 Honda Accord should be no sweat...

If you're spending a few thousand dollars to replace a catalytic converter then you are getting ripped off.

A replacement should only cost you $250 Max, plus labor, you should only be looking at around $650.

The entire exhaust system needs to be replaced, not just the C.C. Plus parts for 2002 Hondas are not exactly plentiful

Also if you believe that parts for a 2002 Honda or not plentiful then you're crazy. Hondas are one of the most mass produced cars.

I wouldn't think so. Most people who cut out cats only cut out the C.C.. the fact that you don't see the rest of the exhaust system

In the picture, it's because this is a picture from the shop and they would have removed any exhaust from the cat back to have clean welds
