I saw somewhere on imgur a user took notes on grid paper and seperated with dashes. This allows (at least for me it did) to occupy more of the sheet with notes instead of blank lines and white space.
This method also makes working around sketches of key ideas super easy. And, at least to me, this grid style is easier to read.
To conclude, I love it. So, I thought I would share this example for other people to try it out. I also have included am image of a "tutorial" sheet to make it easier to replicate.
TL;DR: OP tried new way to take notes, liked it and wants to share the method he shamelessly stole from another user.

EDIT: @commoncomment brought up a good point that this could be useful for exam reference sheets (only if they are allowed, though!)

Holy shit why didn't I use grid paper in school?! Left handedness + tendonitis caused me to take notes like this since like 6th grade.

I made revision sheets like these for my GCSE science and history. About 100 bullet points per page, for history & ~10 for each science.

Unfortunately, they have been recycled since the summer! I made a little box for each science & a page for each history period (3 in total).

Small, random notes with formulae or key points seem to work for me. I never look at them again but writing makes me remember.
