This is real, this is our fucking lives now. We have to create our own open source alternatives. Have you heard of the fediverse?
I happen to design tools for activists, I encounter bs online all the time but it's usually not this blatant.
If you'd like to checkout the stuff I'm workin on it's at Needpedia.org - we're lookin for people.

Stop explaining your intent to the tool
Making an alternative is also an option

My mail is on an IMAP server in Europe. And even then, I caught MS routing it through their servers if I use Outlook.

email uses well established protocols for interoperability. Your outbound messages are likely to end up as spam or outright blocked, by the likes of gmail, but you can run your own mail server and have full control.

Hey I'd love to look more into that. My fear's been that if my outbound emails aren't from megacorp, they'll be filtered out by inboxes provided by megacorp.

The name is awfully close to NeedipeDIA, by DIA.mil. Odd choice.

Also how'd you hear about NeedipeDIA? I thought that was something most people don't know about, have reporters started picking up on it or something? I've seen people think I'm crazy for even mentioning it.

No it's actually WAY stranger than that. I was inspired by NVC which is build around 'need literacy', and inspired need - pedia's name. When I realized there was an evil twin it blew, my fuckin mind.

Fucked up as it is, a real question here is which time it was lying to you.

Oh, it could. Until I asked about labor rights

If you have any tips I'd like to hear 'em. My fear's been that if my outbound emails aren't from megacorp, they'll be filtered out by inboxes provided by megacorp.

Well, yes. Private email systems were all the rage back in the old days, then the Internet came along and now that Google is "big" they can become their own mail system. Except for Microsoft, so the two agree to share only their mail and cut everyone else off.
The usual problem. As to your archving, AI tools are useless, they often give conflicting answers. But using classic tools requires the mail store so use IMAP to log into Google from Thunderbird and download your mail. Then search.
