It sure does seem like they are making it easier for Trump to win by showing all this division within the party. Like they are taking a page of the GQP book and eating each other's faces without realizing it
“While the choice to withdraw from the campaign is President Biden’s alone, I believe it is time for him to pass the torch. And in doing so, secure his legacy of leadership by allowing us to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming election,” Schiff said in a statement.
The California Democrat served as an impeachment manager during one of Trump’s impeachments and has been one of the sharpest critics of the former president. In his statement, Schiff praised Biden’s legacy but added, “our nation is at a crossroads.”
“A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November,” he continued.

It seems to me that every person making this statement this late in the election cycle without a strong, solid replacement candidate who can stand out against tRump. Otherwise, they are only dividing and confusing voters so they should STFU.

Exactly, I haven't seen this group come out and say "This Person has a much better chance, and we should nominate them" They literally are just causing strife / division

At this stage, no one has a better chance. Harris is unelectable. Her campaign went belly-up before Joe was nominated, and she was the last to throw her support to Biden. How she got the VP nom is a mystery.

Who cares? He will or he won't. Either way, we just have to vote against tRump. It isn't about if Biden is the perfect candidate, it is about saving democracy. This maddening hunt for perfection is just a waste of time and uselessly dividing the voters for no reason.

I don't think this is a hunt for perfection. This is a result of concern over him being fit for office and that concern may be enough for him to lose. I will vote for him or anybody else with a (D) by their name, but there is reason for concern that he may have overstayed his time (see RBG for an example of such dangerous hubris).

But the reality is that he has not done a bad job though. Given the shit sandwich he was handed by tRump's mismanagement his team has done a shockingly good job. He had a bad debate performance... ok, and? He is still an effective president because his cabinet is competent.

I agree with everything you said. I also said I will be voting for him. I am concerned that others don't feel the same way and either won't vote at all, or will vote for TFG instead. It's a slim margin to be president in recent history and issues like this cannot be overlooked.

I know this will not be a popular opinion, in fact I recently made most viral for posting the opposite. But John Stewart, in his 7.16 ep. said that it is actually totally possible to switch candidates. Get all the fuckin dems together in a room for 4 days, and emerge 100% aligned with a new champion. If done right America would eat it up and they could kick the shit out of trump. 4 months is actually a lot of time. I feel funny saying this, making a 180 in my stance, but John has a point.

Yeah... except he's wrong. Like a lot of others, Stewart is out of touch with middle-Americans... from the rank-and-file, centrist to middle-of-the-Democratic-spectrum Dems and and the anti-Trump, just-right-of-center conservatives that support Biden. These people won't support a Democratic candidate they consider radical or unknown. They consider Biden to be a reasonable man, who does not act rashly... unlike almost every other potential person.
