Finished result first. Weighs about twelve pounds fully loaded. If I used it for a daily carry, I'd have it felt lined, but since it is mostly for storage, and aluminum rings, I leave it as it is.
Start with five pounds of aluminum rings. Bought in bulk from theringlord.com because I don't have the interest to make my own for this.
Base started, wife referred to it as "the armored kippah state"
Base finished, let's do the side as a big strip for easier work.

Merging the pieces.
Merge completed, detail on the bag closure.
Paracord to close it. Fired the tips to prevent fraying, Heated the knots to melt them slightly to prevent fraying.
Load in the hoard.

May I suggest a cloth padding inside. Lessen the damage the mail might cause to them. + it follow the historical way to wear a mail armor

That is a good idea. The rings are aluminum, so I'd expect they'd take the damage before the dice would..

My aluminum dice bag didn’t necessarily “damage” the dice, but it did leave a nice gray sheen over all my dice that was hard to remove.
