I mean, we're just one planet and we have LOADS of drugs. Imagine if we had a whole galaxy of planets out there, each with their own unique drugs. It really makes sense that Star Wars just has an absolutely massive variety of drugs.

The Cartel specializes in the smuggling of intergalactic drug. Imagine how expensive heroin would be if we have to import from Andromeda? But if it makes you feel like you're in a sea of fluffy clouds being pampered by the gender of your choice, people would still pay it.
