In most cases I'd agree with you.
In this case, that's not her problem. Here she wasn't asking a question, she was offended that a brand that she didn't know was "attacking" a brand that she likes, and so was claiming they aren't important enough to deserve the audacity to taint her timeline like that.
Her actual problem is that she's a brainless corporate simp that's offended that there's content in front of her that isn't perfectly tailored for her.

Whatever educational value xitter may have is completely undone by everything else on xitter. We're certainly not being educated through merriam-webster's snarky posts. I would argue that most Dems have not done right by public education. Biden did, honestly first one in a long time. Arne Duncan who was Obama's Secretary of Education was big on vouchers and giving money to anyone besides public schools and their "Race to the Top" was in some ways shittier than "No Kid Left Behind."
The GOP hasn't been good on public education since Eisenhower.

As a magnet school student, it didn’t used to be like that. Yes, it takes money from the district budget and lets administrators look great because they are getting the smarter kids, but I saw genuinely great education. This was also true for the 4 “magnets” of other disciplines and our votech sister schools on campus 04-08

that too, private schools can discriminate, can segregate, both on sex and race as well as social class, and can be religious. It's a way to bring back a sort of nobility, by making schools rich, white, male, and christian, while sending everybody else to wildly underfunded public shools where we learn to be peasants, and nothing more. The entire concept of private schooling is a cancer on the US school system.

I used to have a HUGE unabridged dictionary when I was a kid/teen. There was no internet then, so it was get that, a thesoraus and a set of encyclopedias or drive to the local library to look up the info. We also had the encyclopedias. Didn't have a thesoraus until much later.

It's the best version for their user base. I would argue that there is no universal best version of really anything PC/tablet/smartphone related, just best version for a particular type of end user. The sector of users Apple focuses on makes their products the most stable and feature rich (aka. best) products for those users and they work really hard to cater to those users making their entire ecosystem seemlessly integrate with each device.

Samsung also has 4 different form factors to choose from in this gen counting the trifold, Google is on their 4th generation, Motorola is also on their 4th gen releasing the Razr fold this year. Fun fact Samsung actually had the passport form factor on a prototype in 2013 so the formfactor isn't even new.

I think there's a strong possibility that in another 10 years 90% of the folding market looks like apple's entrant.

People have been saying that forever. It's kinda my point. The iPhone was just another smart phone when it first came out. When the iPad was launched there had been plenty of attempted tablets before. The Apple Watch is hardly the first smart watch.
But in all those cases apple became the iconic example of the category, at least in the US, even if they were "late." There's room to argue to what degree that's brand recognition vs good implementation vs innovation building on the base concept.

The original iPhone was absolutely the best product on the market at the time. Android took at least 5 years to catch up. At this point though, they're basically equivalent products, except Android is a lot more flexible. Many of the things I do with my phone wouldn't be allowed in Apple's closed garden.
Worldwide, Android is far and away the most popular phone (70% market share). iPhone dominates in the US (60%). Neither of those numbers has changed more than 5% or so for 10+ years.

The original iPhone was only the best at the time because a bunch of other touchscreen PDA's and mobile phones that were starting to embrace text and email as the defacto communication standard came before it so Apple just took all the best tech in those various areas at the time and bolted them all together into a cohesive package. It's the same thing they continue to do today, wait for new tech to be R&D'd and beta tested by others before making their own version.

Agreed. I've been toying with WaterFox on my desktop (Linux) which is a FireFox fork with integrated uBlock. In the end I didn't continue to use it, their default blocks were a bit too aggressive and hurt usability on some sites.

I can't live without the annoyance filters (cookie popups, email sign up popovers, social media login popups, AI chat popups, etc) and the anti adblock detection. I've tried others like Android Vivaldi and Brave and they do not especially do anti adblock well. My desktop Linux I also just use plain ol firefox with a few add-ons.
