Here's one of my desk clocks, the clock mechanism is silent, the seconds hand does not tick. And it's shiny.
This is a desk clock made out of bicycle sprockets. It takes some time to dismantle the bike parts and clean them, but I really like how the end product looks so it's worth it.
Bike wheel clock. It's around 26'' (65cm) in diameter. The largest of all I make.
Cufflinks, also made out of bike chains.
Bike chain keychains. I make different kinds. Cleaning the chains is the difficult part.
Another bike sprockets clock. Wall clock.
I also make clocks out of computer parts, hard drives, circuit boards etc.
Circuit board, they come in blue, red, black, brown, yellow. Any color of motherboards you can find in your PC, I have it.
I have an Etsy store: clocklight.etsy.com. I created a special discount for all Imgurians and Imgur's secret santas. Just use code: IMGURSECRETSANTA1
I love the idea of making someone happy, I hope some of my items will be a great gift for someone.

Its 10:05 baby. Bike time

Once made a wind chime of chain rings and sprockets, pedal crank arm bounced on them with a lower sprocket below pushing it around

Love the idea! Had to order the cufflinks at once!
shutdafuccup

unforgettableredhead
I love the hd clock. Very clever!
Mohaynow
That's rad! I've got a smiley face made with reflectors on an old bike wheel that my dad made 35 years ago, before he died.

My friend made me a necklace years ago for my mother and I still have it. Dusty from hanging in my shop
thatwoodguy
You'd love my collection of old parts, I didn't throw anything out several dozen old chain rings including some Onza, chains spojes and hubs
thatwoodguy
Some of my best parts of my collection are those anodized parts that were really hot in the 90s and parts by Syncros
Cheomesh
As a bike enthusiast this is cake to me. Have you tried using an ultrasonic cleaner, @OP? Chain waxing guys speak highly of them.
TwoBadMiloshDead
I have it,and I use it.Some grease won't come off with it, and some parts are too thinly plated and the cleaner eats away the plating.

Hey those are really cool!
jokexplainer
That’s some nice stuff you’re pedalling.
TwoBadMiloshDead
I'm tryin wheely hard.
jokexplainer
You spoke too soon.

I think I have one of your hard drive clocks. My secret Santa didn't deliver one year and I got it as a backup gift!
TwoBadMiloshDead
Wow, really! That's so cool! I remember sending out some Secret Santa gifts in previous years
funkystay
I hope it was you! I've really enjoyed it!
TwoBadMiloshDead
The clock is cool, but it's not one of mine. Mine are a little bit different, but the general idea is the same.
tinyfootprints
Do you call your workshop a "gear fab?" OK, I'm leaving...
CheeseGreaterGood
Neat-o stuff. Ordering something for my brother’s Christmas gift. He’s really into bikes.
TwoBadMiloshDead
Thank you and thank you!

Suddenly my bike spoke bangle seems slightly "less than" . . .

I got to hand it to you OP, just in time for Christmas. Your work is second to none, I could watch it all day.
TwoBadMiloshDead
Thank you, you're too kind.
Stopgapstudios
Nice subtle puns.
CrimeThinker
Halfway through this I thought you mistyped bicycle as recycled.
MrListerTheFirst
This what re-cycling is all about.
Bunnies007
I see what you did there!

What are you tocking about
GuaiLoh
TwoBadMiloshDead
I should've made that my title....
RaskasaSubwoofer
I would call it upcycling.
Snooj
I did that once for a friend with a used DDR pad and additional stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPQ-lWryWvQ&ab_channel=SnoojDowdy

"Clock Light" for a business name? You are playing a very dangerous game friendo. All I saw/said in my head was Cock Light. Cool clocks tho
TwoBadMiloshDead
I say it myself sometimes ,lol

A little bit hard to read for some people but so cool and beautiful. You must have a well equipped studio in your basement.
TwoBadMiloshDead
Actually, I don't even have a basement! Iive in an apartment, but I do have a work room just for this. I wish I had more space!
kristendeblasi9
But why do you have so many bike chains?
TwoBadMiloshDead
They don't naturally grow in my apartment :), so I get them from my buddy who works in a bike repair shop.
thatwoodguy
If you cycle everyday, and you have one bike you need two chains for it to swap out as they wear. And then multiply by the number of bikes
TwoBadMiloshDead
Broken chain is no joke. My chain snapped off recently, and pulled my deore XT with it. Bent the front sprocket. Very expensive.
thatwoodguy
Last time I did that it cost me $200 for new derailleur.
TwoBadMiloshDead
Back derailleur, dropout, chain and front derailleur. Everything.
thatwoodguy
Yep $200 derailleur destroyed to save a $4 replaceable dropout
Anythingfor
If you ride a lot in filthy conditions you could get less than 1000 miles out of an MTB chain. Newer narrower 11/12s chains wear faster too
stronomer
I like the cufflinks! I made neck-chains out of break cable bits, anodizes spoke nipples and a chain-link as a closing lock.
TwoBadMiloshDead
Got any pictures , would love to see them?
thatwoodguy
Check out my post in this thread with one my friend made for my mom years ago
thatwoodguy
Anodized spokes were garbage you couldn't tighten them very many times before they break.
stronomer
I was just talking about the nipples. Spokes should be steel.
thatwoodguy
A few companies made spokes in oversized aluminum for bladed designs, and also composite. Some were made of anodized titanium
stronomer
Yeah, I don't think that's a good idea. One can get extremely light aerospokes - steel.
thatwoodguy
One company made some very special ones out of carbon fiber. You could buy them to go with the Campanolo 50th Anniversary gold-plated Grupo
