I can't be the only one
I'm also a tech though. I lied, I've had two incidents where I had to simply google the problem and fixed it within 10 minutes.

Mandogus
I only have a screen resolution issue but I use my TV as a monitor.
Dingus2
"ZERO ISSUES SINCE INSTALL" then talks about the first two issues
RazorAndBladeSavedTheDay
At least it's not Vista i guess
deeviralbuzz
silentwalkaway
My TouchPad scroll stopped working. That's all.
DontEatThatTaco
Every fourth or fifth time I boot it's move my icons to one of the other monitors. It's ridiculous.
echo1echo
It updated and uninstalled my apps, afterburner, cpuz, foxit reader! etc. I thought that was a little shitty of them.
Xsiah
The two sets of settings menus (like the programs list) drove me crazy. I rolled back to 7.
jonnnney
If I used windows 10 it would technically violate a client's contract with CMS due to its inability to respect privacy
IamDRINKINGaYUENGLING
I lost all my files
sindorius
Performance-wise it's great. The way it mostly ignores you and does what it wants is a little troubling.
gewalt
I want to agree with you, but the number of ... that get mad when their computer gets exploited after turning off auto-updates irks me more
Kalamazu
Windows 10 is a great operating system with nice features, however for a business, the free upgrade as well as customization is not friendly
TheThirdKindofHeat
Intuit not having Win10 support for QuickBooks 2016 was kind of a kick in the nads. Really irritating.
IronicUsername
Honestly, the OS is great. I just have a problem with the forced updates, the privacy concerns, and the malware-like way they're [1]
IronicUsername
tricking customers who wish to remain on an earlier OS into upgrading. [2]
Choiboy2
I'm not currently using it because of an update glitch. It was so annoying I would rather use win 7 than risk having to reinstall it again.
Choiboy2
The glitch involved the computer restarting to install an update, and then restarting again, and again, and again.... and again...
alchemist23
Windows 10 is just a data miner
DinoSuarez
Well for a data miner, it sure does have a ton of productivity software, games, and other applications available. Actually, it's (1/2)
IWouldLickThat
You know, you also just described Google's suite of products (and data mining).
DinoSuarez
(2/2) a pretty terrible data miner, as you can turn off all the data mining settings in 30 seconds or less.
Mirawatts
"turn off all"
AStainlessSteelRat
Yep! And it's so terrible it stealth re-enables that crap later, you know, because "what are you trying to hide?"
F4ceplant
I hate it with all my guts.Slow, ugly, and that UI just sucks. I'm actually considering a Mac as the lesser of two evils. Back on W7 for now
StillbornGod
I'm using Ubuntu I just can't go back to upgrades stealth-downloading and force installing behind my back slowing shit down. I'm in control.
JoshLeijs
You sound like my wife.
geiokami
It's not a bad operating system in itself, it's the constant invasion of privacy that Microsoft is doing and the forceful upgrades.
Exousa
The forced upgrades, I can understand with not wanting to constantly patch an old OS. Putting ads in solitaire though? Fuck off, Microsoft.
geiokami
It's not the ads I'm most upset about, it's the fact they can detect and remotely remove pirated programs from your computer.
Crashdlanding
I CANNOT GET IT TO INSTALL
IamDRINKINGaYUENGLING
Had the same problem, then one day I turned on my computer and it was done
Crashdlanding
Tried installing. Was waiting for the preparing part I think. Took forever. But then it's been a while and haven't tried.
IamDRINKINGaYUENGLING
Yeah that's exactly what I did, several times I tried it. After about a week since the last time I tried it was suddenly installed. Idk
Crashdlanding
Well, my sister has my computer right now, so I'll have to get it back and try again!
peoplecalltheromanstheygothehouse
My team have just deployed it to 10k users earlier this year, service desk calls have reduced by 15%
bsilly00
The desktop I upgraded to 10, all of my other systems couldnt find the media on it.. movies, books, etc.
bsilly00
The second issue was when it went into power save mode/sleep, the mouse and keyboard wouldnt wake it up. I messed with all kinds of settings
PositivePerspective
1) On my work PC, Win10 would auto install broken audio drivers for the first 4 months. I'd manually install the correct drivers but Windows
PositivePerspective
2) Update would reinstall the broken drivers. Restarting for updates sometimes causes the font size on Notepad++'s tabs to be extra large.
PositivePerspective
3) Once a month resuming from hibernation fails. Microsoft shouldn't have reduced their quality assurance staff and asked devs to do the QA.
jetstream588
I had a problem that made it block my graphics hardware, fixed that. Now I can't get out of full screen without restarting my comp in dolphin
jetstream588
Emulator. I can't find a fix for it and it only happened after Windows 10
Bombideer
I've only blue-screen'd once is five years of 7. Happened twice in the past week with 10. 3 Chrome tabs, Windows Media Player, and bg steam.
JoshLeijs
Check chipset drivers
Bombideer
Thanks.
paulashley
I'm afraid that all of the development/data science tools (e.g., Anaconda, Cygwin) I've set up will suddenly cease working when I upgrade.
RiskyCommenter
Windows 10 soon to get the bash terminal environment within the next couple of builds
RiskyCommenter
I get preview builds and it seemed to work quite well but the build itself sucked performance wise so i had to revert
SketchNI
I use Mingw with no issues. Cant imagine cygwin having many.
paulashley
Did you have reinstall anything after you upgraded? Or was everything left intact?
petgoats
Windows 10 upgrade does not touch most of your programs, Just the Baked in Microsoft ones and Windows itself
paulashley
No changes to environment variables, hosts file, startup scripts, etc?
AsianAnimator
You're not the only one, but we could be the only two.
bosstonez
All good here. I've been a fan since day 1.
raynesdaze
I went from 7 to 10 and have had no problems at all.
DannyDan4
The only bug I had is that parental controls is completely gone, and I am very glad about it.
DinoSuarez
Or the non-vocal majority. Remember, tech support only gets called when there's a problem
CJ47
No problems here
fluxual
Three!
fluxual
Crud. Many!

or the many
bmunchran
I am a windows insider. I have issues with windows 10 so you all dont. A while back i switched to the consumer release and i have to say 1/2
bmunchran
I have noticed a lot less bugs compared to windows xp
shroudzy
My biggest problem since the update is thread stuck in device driver crashes. D:
shroudzy
Otherwise its done me wonders
OrokuSaki52
My wifi stopped working on my laptop and i've never managed to figure why. Win 10 fixed this, so i can't really complain.
petgoats
Probably better driver management in Windows 10.
bosstonez
To be fair a clean install of your previous OS might also have fixed it
VSGH
I was the other way around lol, got issues after upgrading. Drivers all up to date.
DaleGribble88
Try reinstalling the OS, it is what helped my Lenovo z510. Have to completely reset windows and BIOS, only one or the other did not work 1/2
DaleGribble88
2/2 on my machine, and neither did drive boot on a linux distro.
benovere
Sounds like you inadvertently resolved a driver issue.
CoolGuyCoolDude
It's the opposite for me. I can't even use Edge or the windows store
Murrrian
How to fix it?
goldenspider666
Why would you want to?
CoolGuyCoolDude
Because... Ok I forgot why I wanted to..
nugenki
I had this problem too. Apparently, a lot of people were affected. My laptop was the Lenovo y560
DaleGribble88
I had to reinstall OS, and reset BIOS to fix my Lenovo z510
PommedeTerreur
How do I get it to stop turning on in the middle of the night?
Respond
That's a power or sleep setting gone wrong
Smidgeface

Awesome! Thanks. None of my other searches resulted in a useful answer. Truly your Googling power are greater than mine!

There is some meme about ''techs'' not being smart but literally we just know how to google haha.
benovere
Most of the issues I have with windows ten, as a fellow tech, has little to do with the UI or specific features.
ToxicPineapple
My taskbar stops working after a couple of days...
subject626
Common problem
OtherPeoplesNamesGetMePoints
Only problem I have had with it is wallpapers stop working after comp is on for a while (couple days). Right clicking the screen fixes it :)
outsidecucumber
Same here. I usually let my computer running for weeks on end because I host servers and shit, and since 10 it freezes after a few days..
outsidecucumber
Having said that, I think the UI is just really ugly/unfinished in some parts. They had such a huge legacy of Windows as a desktop OS 1/2
outsidecucumber
And now they're trying to make it run on all kinds of devices with different input methods, and it doesn't work that well.. 2/2
Howdoilife
My computer turns itself back on after shutdown now, never happened before Windows 10. I spent 2 hours trying to fix it before giving up.
KawaiiTwat
I had that issue to! frustrating as fucking hell. win 10 has so many hidden weird issues and not to talk about the lack of privacy.
CanadianKnowledgeMachine
The only issue I have are the increased amount of blue screens that I can't seem to fix
JazzHandsFan
Yes, a few things just don't fit quite right in the OS.
daelith
I hate that they removed so much control and hide most of the configuration settings.
sadwaffle
Friend: "Why not Mac?" Me: "I want to change EVERYTHING." Oh, hello W10...
daelith
Well if you want to change absolutely everything, you should be using a Linux variant.
SgtKashim
This. Plus dishonesty about the install process, re-enabling features I've disabled, unable to stop certain auto-updates, plus general...
daelith
They flat out say if you disable the safe executable feature for too long they'll just turn it back on. Really?! Since when is that ok?
SgtKashim
trend toward a walled garden ecosystem. Yeah. I'm not a happy man, and will never migrate my primary systems to WIN10.
TwistableGolf
There was one update that literally broke my computer, had to do a roll-back to the previous update to fix it. Kept locking up randomly.
benovere
Yep, and to opt out on that update you have to install external software (albeit free) from the MS library, otherwise it'll just do it again
TwistableGolf
I didn't.. As soon as I rolled back it said we wont install it again until a new version is released.
benovere
That might be driver specific, then. A friend of mine had a cumulative security update fail. The MS workaround was 'opt out'.
benovere

TwistableGolf
I haven't had any problems since I did that roll back, which was like half a year ago.
