How this probably occurred:
Exec A: We need more people. Maybe we should increase the starting wage.
Exec B: What if instead we offered a one time bonus that we only pay to full time employees, then only hire part timers?
Exec A: Goddamnit you're promoted, you absolute genius!
Me: Please for the love of fuck pay your employees a thriving wage. I literally don't care if that makes my lunch cost a few extra dollars!
