It's a lot more than the original, but not enough.

This is more accurate

Variant of the first.

The "more accurate" version STILL isn't accurate enough.

For accuracy and scale, the businessman would be phoning his line in from atop a mountain of cookies approximately 300 miles tall, within the space station he has built there from selling you your cookie at inflated prices and from loaning the immigrant enough money to keep him permanently in debt, and so he can afford those invisible crumbs on the table.

Counterpoint: using desperate immigrants to lower wages rather than raising wages for the nationals.

For more realism, while saying that the billionaire should be pictured trying to steal the worker's cookie

This game taught me how to count to the big numbers.

In the picture with the extra cookies, the room of cookies would have to extend backwards 140 cookies deep at that depth (or about 3x the height of the pile) to accurately represent the disparity.

The edits are amazing.

They forgot the next frame where the cookie billionaire hires the left guy for 1/100th of a cookie while the right guy isn’t looking. Then he fires the right guy.

How about we skip to the part where we eat? I'm starving.

And repossesses his cookie.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

you mean he hires one left guy and fires 3 right guys

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hires the right guy as a cop ( and/or encourages a racist militia for cheaper)

And if the foreigner complains the rich guy gets him deported and pays the miniscule fine of hiring a foreigner without paperwork.

Pronounce it like "my nuss kyool" in your head, and unlearn the "mini = small" mnemonic.

Talk to text. It messes up often.

I mean, technically speaking, an immigrant is significantly more likely to take a low-skilled laborers job than a rich person. Also...

Dont there have to be high paying jobs to take before a rich person can take it? I thought that was one of the problems, american's don't want hard, low paying jobs and migrants do.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

You've got it backwards though, the jobs are low paying BECAUSE there are migrants to do them. Take away the migrants and either the companies have to pay more, automate (thus employing high-skilled people) or no work gets done. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/09/trump-clinton-immigration-economy-unemployment-jobs-214216/

Define "woke"

The fact that he left him a "whole" cookie is also misleading.

It's urine-soaked.

Well it's fine as a representation, but Murdoch's pile is only accurate if it stays at the depth shown in the extra cookie version for about 3x the height, or 140x what's visible on screen.

This is before “cookie-tax” is applied

This. People don’t understand exactly how much more wealth the fraction of a percent had. The difference between a billion and a million is massive!

That one cookie is on credit and the man in the suit owns the factory.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The man in the suit is Rupert Murdoch.

The people and money should be swapped imo. Through active action corporations are deciding to put money over people, meaning they would pull the switch to kill the people to save money

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Well, what do you expect them to do? NOT rescue the bag of money? Next you'll be insisting the orphan crushing machine be turned off.

3 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Hey, hey, hey. Let us not go to strawmen arguments! I'll assure my friends across the aisle that *nobody* demands the orphan crushing machine to be turned off. But while my good Republican colleagues call for it to be sped up by 20%, we Democrats believe it should only be sped up by 5% (Though we're willing to compromise at 15% for the sake of bi-partisanship and 17% if Republicans force us to play chicken)!
