Cocoa is traditionally part of any chili where I'm from.

Tip: Never put salt in a blend, you can add latter but not take out. Bonus tip: fresh roast and ground cumin is easy and freaking amazing.

Hing... aka: Asafoetida?! Uhhh... bless you?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Super cool super hard!!! Cause you know everyone has this shit at home

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeahh this is a repost dude. Sorry.

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 10

What is a difficult spice blend? And is it measured in some Narnia made up unit like metric or rectal pinches?

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Exactly. How hard is it to meausre things and dump them together?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Favoriting so that I can forget to come back and look at this every time I want to make a spice blend.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Just did it too!!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seconded and upvoted! :)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well said.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a Cajun my whole life that is not an accurate blend we use

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can confirm this growing up down the bayou as well

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are great but if you want to amaze your own taste buds, use fresh herbs whenever possible. :)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Spice blend. Favorite and forget

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1/4 cup of cinnamon???

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Just dry heaved.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i was also put off by the thyme. maybe don't use their pumpkin spice recipe...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I just generally throw random spices over whatever I'm cooking. Seems to work more often than not.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why powders? Powdered garlic and onion are crap compared to good old fashioned regular onions and garlic.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

even granulated onion and garlic are much better than powder.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because if you try to put good old fashioned regular onions and garlic into a shaker it won't work very well.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because these are spice blends. Whole onions and garlic aren't spices.

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Chili seasoning don't need no cooca...

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

Maybe it's supposed to be like a mock mole or something.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Cocoa isn't there for flavoring, but for coloring.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

That's my point.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Chili seasoning don't need no coloring.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One day we'll switch to metric. One glorious day.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

for recipes even in countries that use metric use units like "tablespoons" and "teaspoons". But for anything beyond that we use grams

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just get rid of "cups", that's all I ask. Cups are what I drink out of, not what I use to cook

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As a guy living on his own who wants to impress his lady friend with cooking, I can use this. Thank you OP

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 tsp of cumin coming right up

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why isn't Michael cera in this?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I heard the easiest Spice was Mel B.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What's up with the pumpkin spice having that weird black pepper measurement?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I read that as "Space Blends" and was more excited.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cumin seeds?

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hook a bitch up with a good Jamaican jerk recipe.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Said on last post, will say again. As an Indian, hell no. The sweet blend is not sweet at all (hing, really? Not even if you're high).

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

THIS.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a Cajun, I don't know anyone who uses anything like that blend.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What would you recommend? I've never cooked Cajun before.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly though most of us just use Tony Chachere's.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Onions, bell pepper, & celery are the "trinity" of Cajun cooking. After that? Garlic powder, salt, pepper, cayenne.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can see the French influence, so that makes sense. I'll Google Tony Chacheres, because no idea what that is.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a totally non-Cajun that occasionally eats Cajun cuisine, I concur.

Repost son

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ah.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that's a horrible layout

11 years ago | Likes 560 Dislikes 8

I read thyme in the pumpkin line and stopped reading.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know I'm gonna be bashed for saying this, but the article IS taken from Women's Healt magazine. So....

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Or you could instead realize that an article taken from any magazine would have to be formatted to fit the frigging page without being tiny.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's okay. I was thinking it too.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

glad to see I am not the only one :)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I had to re-read it again....

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's very important to visualize the amount of each ingredient. Some people are illiterate and the pictures help.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

...? Of course pictures are helpful. Do you know what layout means?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes and design elements are part of a layout

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I remember the last time I saw this on Imgur someone posted as a more easily readable layout.

Favorited that one instead, then forgot.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Commenting for later :)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So much better

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Love when you can tell a correction's been made not out of any interest in the material, just sheer annoyance at the last guy's incompetence

11 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Not to be that GUY, but this is from Women's Health... just saying..

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

hahaha, I made almost the exact-same comment a couple of minutes ago :P

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Lol I literally thought the cinnamon went with the Italian blend and thought "what the fuck, why"

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I had the same reaction to the thyme being in pumpkin spice.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I thought there was a women's health spice blend. Also obligatory whoop whoop fellow bronxite. Bronxonian? What the fuck are we?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fucking awesome, that's what we are.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I heard that!! Lamp.
