My favorite games of all time. (TOP 10 list)

10: My first game on the list. Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist. I played this on Sega Genesis 16 bit. It was a awesome game where you went through levels with cool fighting and simple, but effective game mechanics. The design was imo flawless where you joined up with a friend (as few other game could) at that time and had a perfect co-op story-line together.

2 player ftw. It was an amazing game with co-op. I still play this occasionally today. I always loved Raphael best, but he was horrible in this game. Short range always lose to long range. Don was perhaps the strongest one with Leo (amazing back-kick special ability) as the number two. Mike was sadly nothing special, but nothing bad either.

An amazing game non the less. Best turtle game ever made, and one of the best co-op fighting game. (Don't kill me with downvotes arcade lovers)

9: Civilization 4. Well there is so many great Civ games out there, so picking one is really hard. But my personal favorite is number 4. It was the last game where unit stocking was a thing and the simplicity of the game made it easy to understand, but hard to master.

Game had everything for me. Still I have so much love for Civ 2, 3 and 5. I have yet to play Civ6 as I usually wait until all the DLC is out, so I can buy a complete package. Civ games have a way to always need a few expansion before they are fun and balanced enough to dig into.

8: Football Manager 2007. I know a lot of you Imgur users hate football games and I don't blame you. But this game was a gem of a game. It had everything I ever want with a manager game. You build and manage a team, scouting for players, increasing value, selling players, play matches, build new stadions etc etc.

So much freedom and so much insane unrealistic events. I mean, I won Champions League without cheating in year 6-7 with goddamn Kolbotn. A Norwegian 3 level team without money. Only team that offered me a job. Bested Real Madrid 2-0 in the final. Goals by Sherman Cardenas and Bojan.

Scouting for players and see their progress was the most exciting thing in the game. So much time have I spent looking for new players. And the best part was that nearly all wonderkids you got at age 16-17 progressed to be a 10 times better player than the best "real" players. That was an amazing game.

Many people might say other FM or CM games was better than 2007. Like CM01/02 or FM 2010, etc. But thje old games was way to unrealistic (got McManaman, Fowler, Beckham, Zidane, for free to 3 division teams) and the new games is in my opinion way to much realistic. With press conference, agents, realistic growth etc.

7: Red Alert 1. I loved this game. It was scary as shit as I was a small scared loser, but it was my first PC game (Windows 95). Tesla Coils, Tanya, Migs, Mamut tanks etc etc. I overplayed it, and it was the first game I actually managed to play LAN with. There was so much joy in it.

Aftermath must have been the favorite expansion. There was nothing quite without it. I loved playing vs AI and I usually had the same tactics every time. Build up defense. Suck up as much of the resources I can and defend like your life depended on it until the rest of enemies are out of money. Now I know what horrible tactic that was, but it was ok. I enjoyed it, so it was the right way.

6: Morrowind. Would have loved to have this higher, because this was amazing. The freedom it gave was immersive. You was just released into a gigantic large world and no clue what to do next. Enemy level forced you to walk one direction for the most part, but with skills you could make it whenever you wanted. My later games was to instant travel for "Boots of Blinding Speed" and a quick detour after to the vampire island in the north to get "the claymore" Magebane. Instant power house through the game.

Love the game more than Oblivion and Skyrim due to the fact that it does not "hold your hand" as you play, fast traveling was restricted and during it's release only Gothic (not really represented in my country) had the same level of freedom.

The perhaps best thing about Morrowind was mods. It was perhaps the first game I have ever played that instant let you have mods. With the game came a construction kit for people to use their creative mind to make new content. It made the game stay fresh forever and there was always something new to do. Getting the mods was not easy dough as Internet was not as good as it is today.

5: The last of us. This game made me feel for the characters. Words can not describe my love and sympathy for Ellie and the situation she is in. This game made escort games fantastic again. Where you in Resident Evil 4 cursed yourself in agony after dying because your escort got lost on the way, this game the escort makes you follow without feeling it is in charge. It helps in sticky situations, it actually draw attentions from enemies and manage to not die in the process.

The story was everything for me. I must say I did not like the ending, as I mean you should have more to say in the end. But hey, now we at least get a sequel. That is something right?

4: Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal. Make no mistake. I loved Red, Blue and Yellow. In fact that was the first wow experience I had a child, but G/S/C made it even better. Not only was the game more intense, harder and had valuable content, but it also included many areas from the R/B/Y. I loved the day cycles, the morning and night, the items, the balanced gameplay. I have trained over 20 pokemon to level 100 only to battle my friends for 5 hours at max. And I loved every part of it.

Me and my friends had a rule before we went our different directions in life. Before the school ended and we were all going to different lines we would have the most epic pokemon battle (no legendary allowed). I worked my ass off that year coming up with multiple tactics only to find out that the tactics was being countered by other. I trained more pokemon at level 100 to counter other friends that saw a weakness in my team. It was a never ending cycle. We traded information, but guarded our tricks and secrets with our life.

In the end I had pokemon like; Espeon, Lapras, Porygon 2, Curselax, Tyranitar, Heracross etc, but also specified tactical pokemon like Jumpluff, Wobbuffet, Weezing, Tentacruel etc etc. The best part was that except for Tyranitar everyone (5 friends) had different teams. I ended up on second place only to lose vs a Mind Reader + Fissure Poliwrath (imported from Red) and a critical hit lucky Dragonite.

3: Witcher 3. This game alone saved me out of depression. After a harsh year in the industry I lost my job and had nothing to do. I tried getting a new job, but it was impossible. 250 candidates on 1 job was the standards, not exceptions. Days became longer then ever, and I ended up in a depression. No one wanted me. I was not worth anything. I just remember me sitting alone waiting for replies.

I picked up this game (complete edition) only to have something to do when waiting. And boy did it help.

I played the shit out of it. I was happy again. I felt happiness. I felt joy. The game gave me a huge lift and I become more positive than ever.

It made me go for a rush of visiting companies that was not hiring, searching ever deeper in local newspapers and I got a job in the end. (And the same time did I beat the last DLC (Level 86)

So beautiful. So many great characters. So many great quests. A rich and fantastic game and deserve a top spot in nearly every game lists. And now Netflix is going to continue the story. Fingers crossed that they don't fuck it up.

2: Baldurs Gate 2. I love Isometric games , but few games can make it like Baldurs Gate. The first game was great and all, but the second game is another level. The size of the game is immersive. It is huge, and the choices you have through the game is insane. The characters companions are flawless (except you Anomen) and the level design are exceptional good. The story is interesting and the DLC (throne of Bhaal) is even better except it is naturally shorter.

Characters like Minsc (and boo), Jan Jansen, Mazzy, Valygar, Edwin, Viconia DeVir etc etc. So many character possibilities. so many tactics. So much fun.

Honorable mentions: Diablo 2. Best Diablo, just right before Diablo 1. We don't talk about Diablo 3.

Honorable mentions: Zelda: Links Awakening. Other Zelda games like Ocarina of time, Majora's Mask, Windwaker and A link to the past are all well and good. But this is my favorite Zelda game.

Honorable mentions: To the moon. I have yet to meet a person that did not cry during this game. The score ratings on Steam is no other than impressive and leaves me with the same feeling that it effect peoples emotions very well.

Honorable mentions: Soliders of Fortune 2. Yeah I know. CS is the leader of all FPS shooters. But I was a SOF player. Enough said.

Honorable mentions: Heroes 3. Have played over 3000 hours and it is still fun to play.

Ignore the HD edition dough. Instead; buy a copy on at GoG.com, go to gameranger and registrer for free. Let your friends do the same and you can play together with your friends with no problems. As a bonus for doing it this way, you get to play with the expansion packs.

1: Fallout 2. Oh boy. Words can't really describe this game for me. The freedom it had during that time was amazing. Open world with tons of hilarious Easter eggs, enemies, choices, possibilities, characters etc. My first RPG ever played (1998) and I still play it today. I have beaten this game someplace between 20-30 times. I have at least 5 copies of it (4 hard copies and one digital), because I was afraid i would lose it someday and I wanted to have plenty of backups.

This is a game I will still play when I rests my days at a nursing home. I at least hope I will, if not Alzheimer, death or technology stops me.

This game had it all. I know this is not everyones favorite, but for me it is. In fact, I could have had this on 1 and 2 place only because I love it so much. Going around with Marcus (from broken Hills), Cassidy (from Vault City) and Dogmeat (from Cafe of Broken dreams) Looking for stuff to kill or have dialog with. I could play Evil, I could play Good and every action had a impact.

Dog tax. Because the imgur gods demands it. (not mentioned, but not forgotten: Age of Empire, Starcraft, Dota/LoL, Tales of Symphonia, Icewind dale, Neverwinter Nigths, Mass effect 2, Team Hospital, Transport Tycoon, Super mario world, Monkey Island, Quackshot, Kingdom Hearts and many more)
