May 29, 2022 4:27 AM

Finished product first... Beautiful sear on an amazing ribeye. Just salt and pepper cooked to 125. Melts in your mouth - actually it melts when you handle it!
Sound on for the sizzle!

The before to show the marbling.

If you ever get it again, it's generally reccomended to do stainless steel, no oil or butter of course. 2 minutes a side plus edges.

Stainless steel?? A good cast iron is best for steaks. But let this person cook their damn steak however they want, bro. Life is short.

It's specifically for a5 wagyu. Otherwise yeah cast iron is best.

Well that's a shame. These are thin and the idea with this is to kiss it with high heat not drown it in fat. The steak has enough fat!

That is all fat rendered from the steak, I didn't need to add any.

Oh look another imgurian who's going to criticize you for how you cooked a steak despite never tasting it

$206??? That's crazy!

It be that expensive tho. Supposedly the best meat in the world.

I Admit you're right. I almost blocked the price out. It was quite the splurge but something I've always wanted to try.

There should be something between the angry meat that chain grocery stores sell for $15/lbs, and this kind of stuff. Just regular good meat

I mostly go to a big food chain for gastronomy. By myself a big hip for like 40€ and have great argentinian steaks. Good quality

Costco's normal meat selection is your answer! I never buy beef anywhere else now. Even my Thanksgiving roast.

I bought some steaks at kroger last week at $7lb (on sale) and they were great. But i’m not refined and shit, i just go for taste. Most/

/times in prefer carne asada to steak and i buy meat to make that in cheap Mexican markets for like $4-5lb because it’s the lowest grade

In my humble experience you just need to talk to butchers and research locally-sourced ingredients. Freshness is half the battle
