was playing slay the spire 2 with my brothers. they have never played before and it was funny to watch my younger brother take a very long time each turn deciding what knife to throw while my older brother just plays a few attack cards and has to wait. and i just sit there on my throne trying to convine them both i am going to do something i just need to forge a little bit more.

Such a fun game
brandonblk
sts2 is wayyy too diffucult imo
Salticido
I'm starting to have the opposite problem. If I go into it with a strategy for my deck and skip cards that don't synergize with that plan, Act 3 becomes a cake walk.
somebackup
Absolutely not lol. There are some extremely broken synergies, e.g. necro souls.
havedicewilltravel
This is fantastic! I hope you do more! Love that game.
Gnakenheimer
I love the multiplayer! I have 2.5k hours on the first one, and the second one is just as great
somebackup
The multi is hit and miss. Would be good if the rest site had a special option like trade a card? Assuming same character or colourless
Gnakenheimer
Ooh, more multiplayer options at the restsites would be cool tbh. Copy or exchange cards, swap relics, or give money. I would also like even the basics of cosmetics so you don't have 4 identical ironclads in multiplayer.
wremise
Just had my first win. Of course it was with the wariour.
Gnakenheimer
Silent is bae
wremise
I get it, i really like her too, had great builds, but always bad rng with 3rd boss.
Gnakenheimer
I hear ya. All three acts, just steamroll everything and at the final boss, all your good cards are at the bottom of your deck, you take too much damage and by the time you have it set up, you die because they decide to do 17x3 and you're on 12 hp with all attacks in your hand
CortexDagger
Been loving this game as well as watching a lot of content on it. I suck horribly but that's part of the fun.
Junktrunkjunkie
my last run I got a power that automatically plays any strike cards. Then a few strike cards that draw a card... Then trimmed the deck and got pretty close to an infinite loop
somebackup
Infinite souls is best
CortexDagger
Nice! I've heard stuff like a pomel strike infinite is possible. The game kind of encourages going infinite anyways.
SometimesISayHistoryStuff
I actually worry about that, a little. I'm sure it will be rebalanced from here (the first game was fine-tuned for years). But the game seems geared toward infinites as you said, and I kinda think infinites are really really fun... the first time. When they become normalized they get kinda tedious.
I'm still loving the game, of course.
BagOfPrayers
Well this is a nice way to find out that StS2 released. I loved the first one!
CreativeUncommons
It is still in early release and has a bug or two, but the content already more than they had at release for the first one. I've been playing obsessively.
JaceTiger
Early access release iirc
mozrael
But honestly SO much better than many 'full releases,' imo. It feels like the only things missing are some narrative pieces and maybe a bit of balancing?
dudethisbetternotbetaken
I like the sly mechanic that got added to silent. It feels like they took the discard synergy relics and broke them up into cards. I don't like how calculated gamble exhausts no matter what now, but I'm assuming that it's because it made sly completely broken otherwise.
SometimesISayHistoryStuff
Sly might be broken anyway. In a game that seems to be limiting energy generation you can get through relics this time, finding ways to gain it through cards or cheat cards into play becomes more powerful. Along with ways of running through a deck to find the card you need always being important. That's just what the Sly mechanic is.
Most the other strategies have to add cards to do that specifically. Except Necrobinders Souls... which also might be broken.
Arbitrarynamehere
I had individual turns that would burn through my deck like five times even without any energy regeneration. It's busted but undeniably fun
DrewThe3DPrinterGuy
Does the MP work well in practice? It seemed a really weird addition to that style of deck builder but I don't really play deck builders
Goblinshopkeeper
I've enjoyed it. Some cards even work better with multiplayer. Enemies scale up in health with each player. Definitely a bit different to strategize with more people and they'll probably have to tweak some things as time goes on. Just finished a run where we all chose the same character and it was a bit busted. If you and friends enjoy deck builders then you will like it but otherwise I can see it not being as fun.
bornaparte
Co op is fantastic the scaling is a bit weird but it's strategically rewarding
MoshingSnail
It's a lot of fun. We felt the multiplayer was a little bit more easy than solo but still really fun to play. A great addition to a great game in my opinion
somebackup
We felt that way until we started doing higher Ascensions, it loses balance and scales harder than solo
MoshingSnail
Yeah we played on ascension 2 today and we are struggling
somebackup
There's only a few things I really hate still. The 4 snakes elite, and the slumbering rhino beetle. Oh and doorman. Some of them hit me too early or just with the wrong build.
