I see a lot of calls from the right (and left) asking for unity and forgiveness. Not seeing anything from the right about penance and remorse.

Damn right.

Ugh 'no mercy'.. 'use power for justice'. Sounds familiar? It is fine if it is your side doing it because you can make the rules to justify.

The rules are already there, dumbass. Put in place by both Dems and GOP, because that's how legislation works.

How about "you will not change trumpism" full stop, we need to find another way to go about this without escalating out of control.

That moment is LONG gone. One way or another, consequences are coming.

This comment was like 8 months ago, of course its all gone...

This post is the best descriptor of the reality of the modern American political landscape ever written. And Agent00Negative's assertion

that "One way or another, consequences are coming" is a chillingly accurate assessment - punish the guilty without mercy or be prepared to a

accept this style of authoritarian abuse of democracy to become the norm.

It's true. That whole "they go low, we go high" bullshit doesn't work against cheaters and liars with no moral compass.

It isn’t supposed to. It’s supposed to work on the observers. Make the bullies the outliers and show that something other than hate works.

While I agree we have to call a spade a spade, if we don't unite all we're doing is causing more division. And fueling the y'allquada bunch.

I up vote to keep this in conversation .

Re-read what he wrote, its the truth. Nothing is stopping the y'all quada bunch. Empathy/forgiveness won't stop shit. Consequences will.

To long and no patience to read at the moment. Might come back and read it and comment more.

There HAS TO BE plenty Trump can be held responsible for. Actions have consequences.

So many Hatch Act violations done on live TV... And that's just scratching the surface.

The problem is he didn’t break any laws, that we know of. Unless we demand new laws, a future president could be just as bad.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

No, he definitely broke laws. Interfering with a congressional investigation, for one. He was acquitted; he's not innocent.

There's also the human rights violations, such as the concentration camps and genocide.

That sounds terrible. When did that happen?

Did you somehow miss the detention of immigrants, the separation from their children, and the forced hysterectomies?

Imo prosecuting Trump and his family specifically I believe would go very far. If all (or even just some) of the corupt shit he did is (1)

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Proven and he goes to jail. 1) it shows consequences. 2) his voters will have no choice tonaccept they were tricked. 3) GOP can claim(2)

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

They were duped. It gives all his backers an out to admit they were wrong without admitting they were wrong. With that you can push (3)

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

For people to be more careful and i think even if the GOP doesn't want to change they will be forced to as I think the common(4)

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Voter will say Trump and GOP tricked them into supporting a traitor. Racism shit aside. They are heavily patriotic and if it turns (5)

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Out they supported a traitor and trusted a party calling out the other side as evil and backed a traitor their world will be flipped.
