This might be an unpopular oppinion puffin but I'm sick of seeing those so.... Why not zlidberg
So basically I love the technology but it's just a real life repost. I guess if you program the patten yourself that's cool but let's face it it's not as good as something hand made.
In conclusion it's cool but less cool because a machine did all the work.

So basically any craft skill, whether it be woodworking, knitting, painting you don't respect if they didn't also design the plans?
JadawinUK
It's step one of a ST replicator. Shut up.

Dimind
Obviously not an artist.

..... No sorry I'm a prosthetics technician.
Dimind
Why is something 3d printed not as good as hand made?
stuffandthing
It's not better just more impressive
Dimind
I think I would disagree

Awww there so cute my gf would love those

It depends what the purpose of the thing you're making is. If handmade ones are better, they'll sell for more anyways
stuffandthing
Would you be more messed by a hand carved statue or a mass-produced trinket? I know which sells more
justanexcitableboy
messed?
stuffandthing
Sorry *impressed
justanexcitableboy
I'd rather have a 3D-printed computer than a hand-made one. cheaper and probably higher quality.
stuffandthing
Are you impressed by the 3d printed computer or the one scratch built?
justanexcitableboy
What about a mass-produced statue or a hand-carved trinket?
stuffandthing
Ok with do you prefer? If someone showed me a hand carved trinket I'd be really interested by the story behind it.
