Imagine, if you will, a job where you and your colleagues at the same level as you get to decide how much of a pay raise you get. Your security in your position is decided by a committee of millions of people who have to decide as a majority to replace you with another candidate about whom they know very little. You make decisions about what benefits the rest of the company gets while your benefits are vastly superior. And corporations pay you obscene sums to make policy in their favor.

We desperately need more involvement in our system. Term limits can help, but they are a stopgap from us being actually involved. Voting every 2-4 years is the LEAST people should be doing in a democracy.
