Long shot, but anyone have a translation of the tablet in #4? I'm guessing it's nonsense but ...

This dead horse is thoroughly beaten ... inferior copper

#7 Anyone play Star Ocean 3? Part of it has your future sci-fi crew hunting for copper on a primitive world.

This was really great. I laughed until I teared up. #10 was the best with all the fine print bits that I had to zoom in to read.

Do you think the tablets were preserved because they were backed when someone set his house on fire?

I had a client that bought a container of aluminum extrusion and when it arrives it was literally rocks. He lost like a hundred grand.

I have been thinking about this guy a lot recently, because I've sort of been in my own head about legacy and making a mark on this world, it's a whole midlife ordeal. But the truth is we never know who is going to be immortalized and remembered for centuries. Just look at this fucking guy. Known for all time for a bad yelp review.

This. You did not cop out on the quality of this post.

Not everyone delivers this high of quality product. I’m not naming names.

I've heard of this Ea-nasir once or twice before. I am now informed through memes. The internet is glorious.

News thru memes is the future

News through memes is also the present and at least a bit in the past, too.

At this point the Ee-nasir meme is so old it could itself be from Ancient Sumeria

Meta: Ea-Nasir was a meme even back before the iron age

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I read the whole thing but still don't know what it all refers to.

Is there something i missed that happened in the world for this post to exist?

Ea-nasir was a copper merchant that was the subject of hate-mail for swindling his customers. He became famous as the oldest name we have written down, IIRC.

Someone has been living under a rock for the last 3,970 years.

There once was a man from Ur. His name was Ea-Nasir. His copper was shit, the memes are a hit, and Nanni doth think him a cur

I fully acknowledge that rhyming Ur and Ea-Nasir is probably an egregious mispronunciation and accept the punishment.

#5 It's disgusting how much reusable copper and brass is just thrown away everyday in my city!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Which is strange since you can make a post on any social media page for your town/city/county and get 100 people ready to pick up. Hell, I

just pile my scrap metal up by the driveway and they'll grab it before I can even finish piling it up. They've helped me haul shit up stairs

before. The guys I usually deal with have lead test kits and a Geiger counter in their toolboxes, and 90% of what they do is by request.

not in my neck of the woods. I dumpster dive as a side hustle and usually manage a few pounds a week in copper alone. If it's not a lot nobody bother as they see it more as a chore then a quick buck. Even setting it out for someone else is a lot to ask of people.
