Henry the Octopus is done

Dec 1, 2025 12:18 AM

Finished product first. Of course i made it glow in the dark

This is what Henry looked like when i bought him. Anitomically incorrect octopus skeleton.

What i was wanting to use as a model. The beautiful Blue Ringed Octopus.

Love these venomous lil guys.

Base coat

Small blue circles in neon and coated with blue blow powder and sealed in with clear..... This took forever.

It was worth it in the end, it was a good effect.

And i thought the blue rings took a long time.....

About 3 weeks after i started Henry is finished. I tried to make him have a smile even though octopi don't smile. It doesn't look much like a skeleton anymore and that is ok.

Henry with his shelf-mates.

I used TechnoGlow glow powder on most everything.

I can't get too many more or my room will be too bright to sleep in. Speaking of.... I have a turtle and a squirrel i am working on making glow. May add a unicorn horn to the squirrel before I paint it.

Have fun out there and don't eat paint!

Yes. Somehow bones. I love it because of the absurdity of it. There is also a skeleton snail on the bottom shelf........

I really want to paint my bathroom ceiling in the Aqua blue color. Wouldn't need to turn on the lights on at night and with the lights on it is a nice eggshell color.

I just saw on their website that you can mix the glow powder with grout!?! Perfectly timed info for my upcoming shower tile job!!!
