Previous recap: Work has shorted me cash, stalker at work, harassment at work, lack of understanding from family, prescriptions not working, need insurance at all for pills, anxiety at all time high, ADHD worse than ever. The list goes on.
I spoke with a friend who had been through this and needed the disability pay before. The state I am in not only handles it poorly but pays very little. The SSI/SSID also pays out so little it isn't enough to meet bare requirements for living let alone getting help. Facts online seem to bolster what he said.
I feel more hopeless than ever now. My choices are find another job but all the problems come with and I do not have money to move either. (Despite the above the job is only one piece of this puzzle) It will only remove a couple. Just stick out the job and keep my head down with stomaching the mental issues as I have for decades as it keeps getting worse and worse. Last try to attempt disability and be unable to afford anything. So lose medications, my therapist, just all of it.
Why does America hate us so much? I didn't ask for these issues. I didn't want to be this way.

It isn't just ADHD.

UBI would help so many people.
gtotherizzle
It'll never happen
kittypoopappledrink
It has been happening

the struggle is real. if you have a few thousand hours invested in some hobbies, try to turn that into a hustle if you can.
NapalmZer0
some extra income sources, even small, can really help. just keep it under the radar.

That's disability fraud if you don't report it and they have people who's whole job is watching people. Not like paranoid shit but observers
NapalmZer0
true, and at the same time if it flies, it can be reported. Giving a non traditional way to generate a revenue while avoiding some issues
gtotherizzle
Doesn't matter where you live....SS/Disability always denies your first application. So put it in early. Also gtfo of that job. 1/?
gtotherizzle
It's literally a job seekers market right now. You can take partial disability and supplement it with work (believe me you don't want full)
TheFastpaws
Why is that?
gtotherizzle
Why is what?
TheFastpaws
Why is full so bad?
gtotherizzle
The pay is pretty low and you can't legally work on it. Most that go on full benefits rarely come off of it
gtotherizzle
Service industry most likely doesn't offer insurance but can be extremely flexible with hours because you can't earn too much with SS 3/?
gtotherizzle
Look into social work help for your counseling. Many use a sliding scale if you don't have insurance...I empathize which is 4/5

Why I've learned the system hacks. It sucks, but it's what we live with in this country. 5/5
