hey. i made a book. can i show you

what is up people? you may have seen my work around here before. i am the guy that draws the "pointy dog" comics. in fact, imgur gave them this name, which i now use in real life (thanks).

my last book was all about having a baby and weird religion. this year, i focused almost entirely on two dogs, who think about life and stuff.

my wife wrote the description of the book, which is: "Take a trip through the mind of a small, neurotic dog just trying to figure out life. Is he Good? What is the nature of self responsibility? Will there be steak? This slim volume is chock full of bite sized comics exploring big ideas: philosophy, theology, psychology, ethics, parenting, and the complex morality behind hating the mailman."

there's also a few other unreleased adventures such as: lab rats stuck in a maze, devils trying to figure out why they're "evil", a baby kangaroo, and some cats who represent postmodernism (wow) (reading big books behind the scenes moment).

i'm really pleased with this one because, my last book was very aggressive with the deeper and weirder ideas. with this one, i wanted them to be there, but just as part of the universe. if you're kind of a nerd or "deep thoughts" inclined, you would notice them - but, if you're not in the mood for that, they also just function as funny comics.

i'm really glad i was able to strike that balance. i do show my hand sometimes though:

I guess this is technically like a commercial. I hope that's cool. on the one hand, i don't have many people I show this stuff to in real life, so, obviously I want to show it off.

I also kind of hustled to get it out for the holidays. people giving my books as gifts is really cool for me because, most of my life, people got me gifts that indicated they didn't really know much about me. that's cool, not complaining, but I like the idea of someone giving this to someone who is into philosophy, psychology, maybe religion, weird deep ideas in general, and them enjoying it and feeling "seen" because of that.
