He didn't launch bombs or invade another country, but he did allow the Soviet Union to spy on the United States from the island. Furthermore, he was a dictator, and to this day, Cubans live oppressed and enslaved in their own country. That's why thousands managed to flee and take refuge in America. He is the promoter of a rancid and archaic ideology that is currently sadly infecting Mexico and has for years subjugated Venezuela and Nicaragua. His speech was only demagoguery and soporific.

the United States spied on half the world, intefere on numerous democratic elected governments, promoted rancid and archaic ideologies, treated people like trash and slaves (and still do today) based on color of skin or gender or sexuality, infected Mexico (or do you think drug cartels didnt start with the CIA?) and subjugate numerous countries. There is no speech more demagogue that of the US and I think its a shame that you cant see this, of even if you see you cant blame the US past actions

I mean arguably other than the time Cuba hosted nuclear missiles from the Soviet Union (who put them there in part in response to the US deploying similarly capable nuclear missiles in Turkey) I'd say the claims are largely correct.
Doesn't mean Castro was overall a good head of government (not taking a position there, but I'm opposed to any kind of authoritarianism or anti-democratic government, which would include the US currently and historically)

And it's a very extraordinary claim to ever say NO ONE believes X. There are absolutely older Cubans, maybe even younger ones, who miss Fidel Castro.

I'm gonna bite the bait and answer to you, imagine a country being forbiden to trade with most of the world for decades and still could provide free education and medical care for its people, and the country that caused said embargo is the only country in the world where there is no free education and health care

That was exactly the problem. Kennedy was wrong to isolate Cuba, but Castro was too proud to negotiate. He could have improved the quality-of-life for Cubans in general, but chose not too. I've never been to Cuba, but lived in Miami during the 80's. Plenty of pissed-off Cubans that became the older generation of today.

Those pissed off Cubans were often the descendants of exploiters and robber barons under Batista.
You'd need to provide evidence that Castro was the primary impediment to improving relations with the US at the height of the Cold war where we were desperately spreading the bullshit "Domino Theory" to justify illegal wars.
