#2 I haven't looked in quite a while, but the classic Political Compass put Sanders barely left of center. I always wondered why in the US I had to vote for someone to the right me no matter what.

#1 more like the middle panel should read something like: "lets have a protest-vote campaign like Uncommitted in 2024, or some anti-DNC shit like in 2016. both sides, just dont participate. throw it away on green party lol"

I blame the liberals for not moving left, and trying to drag the party right.

No, "please don't people die in medical poverty" is the same left-of-Liberal that Sanders belongs to. There IS a far-left and they/you do want full-on gulags and "great leap forward"s. Just look at Hassan and his buddies.

This is fairly accurate for the USA. The communist party is nearly non existent in the US.

probably because it's been demonized since WW2.

Actually illegal, the Communist Control Act of 1954 technically outlaws the Communist Party USA and criminalizes membership

We barely have any leftists in Congress anymore. The majority of democrats are just diet republicans. They always seem to find enough democrats who flip to pass the republican agenda. They both have the same donors. Democrats are just paid to lose.

Democrats might spend less on lobsters and grand pianos though

#1 - OR, buy a fucking clue and run candidates that can win a general election against the Republicans.

This thinking is exactly what the image is about:

Liberals: "We just need the right king to wear the ring and everything will be alright".

Leftists: "We're throwing that ring into the volcano. End of discussion."

You realize that's a losing "boTh SIdeS" stance, right? That it's the reason we are where we are?

The time for idealism is past. The time for action is here. If you want to remove the Fascists, vote for the electable Democrat to face the Republicans. Then vote for the Democrat in the General Election.

Electable like Mamdani? or AOC? Or Ilhan Omar?

They're electable in very specific districts. Educate yourself.

I'm suggesting we run candidates like them. Not Romney.

So just an FYI, I tried to find a source for that quote and all I found was a Reddit post. I couldn’t find anything substantiating the quote directly.

…did you look at any of my previous comments? Here’s one I’m quite fond of:

To be clear, not trying to be snarky. I genuinely wanted to know more but didn’t find it. Maybe someone whose Google-fu is better than mine can dig something out.

Does seem to be a distillation of Schmitt's ideas, not a direct quote. Best summary of his theories I've found. https://democracyjournal.org/magazine/77/its-carl-schmitts-moment/

Sure, but it’s being thrown around as a direct quote and attributed. However true it is as a sentiment, it’s not an actual quote.
It doesn’t matter, people are going to share whatever, I just figured I’d throw a comment out and see if I had missed something in my search. Thanks!

If it were an actual quote, there would probably be Quotation marks.
