Government won't be enforcing masks or social distancing any longer. I live in a conservative hellhole so businesses will concede and lift enforcements in their stores and restaurants as not to upset customers. Everyone's celebrating like we've defeated this thing.

The 65% above doesn't even include anyone under 12 years old as they're ineligible for vaccination, so the % is actually much lower. Those kids are going back to in-person schooling soon, and then home to their parents who have decent odds of not being vaccinated.

They're just doing this because vaccinated tourists are scheduled to be let back into the country as of early August, and they don't want to miss out on those delicious touristbux.

I'm just so tired of fighting uphill.

We do everything right, everything that's asked of us and our reward at the end is to get thrown into the wood chipper the moment it's maximally convenient.

Some of my immediate family is willfully unvaccinated. I think this situation has just broken me because I was weighing the possibility of their dying as a result of all this and... I don't think I care.
