I had my girl (Similar fur pattern to your friend) helped passed 2 years ago at 18 years herself, and just a few months back her roommate (bigger and fluffier) also developed severe illness and was also helped to pass at home at 18 as well. These are very long and happy lives we gave these cats, they enriched us and the people around us and taught us important lessons about caring for others. Remember to open your heart again when you can, kittens and older cats need the kind of love you give.

Sorry for your loss. I had a girl for 20 years and I still miss her more than a decade after she passed. I've got three little ones now and they bring me joy (when they aren't torturing me lol).
