My guess is because we're taught it's bad manners/rude/gross at an early age and sets expectations. No expectation for for a baby to chew "politely" yet or a dog cuz manners like that doesn't exist with them. Same as cultures where slurping things like soup isn't taught as a bad thing, so it doesn't bother them as it would with us

Rudeness is annoying. In a society where people are taught table manners from a young age, audible / open-mouthed chewing is perceived as rude. Infants and pets can get away with it though. They don't know better and we know they don't intend to be rude. It actually makes us happy to hear them monch with a healthy appetite. Shows that they're thriving (we generally view and treat pets a lot like our own children)

Dogs monchcronch because they don’t have hands so they don’t have much choice in the matter, and (presumably) they don’t possess the social understanding that others might not want to listen to them eat. People who chew loudly DO have that understanding, they have both hands and cheeks that allow them to hold food easily and eat quietly, and they still choose to subject everyone around them to their sloppy noisy chewing
