These photos are from an all-girls robotics tournament held in Tajoura, Libya, on August 27.
For the second year, our LYBOTICS Taj Robotics Team brought together girls from different robotics teams across Libya for a day of building, programming, competing, and learning together.
One of the things that makes me happiest about LYBOTICS is watching young people who started as participants eventually become the people creating opportunities for others.
This tournament is a great example of that.
More girls in robotics. More young people leading. More opportunities being built locally. ?

The world would be so much better off if men with fragile egos weren't so afraid of women. So many great minds lost to the world because some idiot can't handle a woman having an opinion.

New season kicks off next weekend. FIRST is a global competition for students to build a robot to do some new game challenge every season. They have about 6 weeks to get prepared for first competition. There are these smaller robots and then there is a league for much larger robots in the spring. I mentor for a school that does both sizes. If you are a professional in science or business or just want to be involved this is probably happening near you. Be a mentor!

Sweet, I did FIRST for the 4 years of highschool, & mentored for several years. It was a great experience. When I was mentoring lego league was still getting off the ground. I should mentor again.
