If people treated imgur as a plain image host and only hit share to community when they thought the image they needed...
... hosting was original, the website would be more fun to scroll through and less full of the same garbage. Instead people try to circlejerk for points based on what they think the "community" would like to see and it both becomes close to and worse than 9gag style websites at the same time during major social events.
