Today marks the 44th anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre, which was committed on September 16, 1982, and lasted three days. According to different estimates, between 1,300 and 4,000 civilians were killed, most of them Palestinian refugees, along with hundreds of Lebanese civilians.
The Israeli military surrounded the two camps and illuminated the sky with flares, while armed militias entered the camps and carried out killings of refugees, including women and children. Homes were also destroyed over their residents.
After the occupation forces withdrew on September 18, medical teams and journalists entered the camps and found bodies piled up in the streets and mass graves. The exact death toll remains uncertain, with hundreds of people still missing and their fate unknown to this day.

I saw an animated movie about this, it's called "Waltz with Bashir" and it was beautifully done, even if I felt like a lot of the storytelling was working to distance the author from the atrocities.

Fun Fact, it is not a sale of weapons... we are just giving them the bombs.
It is a taxpayer-funded credit. Back in 2016, the US passed a $3.3B a year in Foreign Military Financing. Israel is the buyer and submits requests to use these credits to buy stuff; the US pays American weapons manufacturers and ships the bombs to be used by the IDF to kill Palestinian and Lebanese children.
If you paid Federal taxes, you paid for the bombs that turn Palestinians into burnt skeletons.

Interesting way to gloss over the fact that those "armed militia" were actually Lebanese, not Israeli forces... But I guess that doesn't fit the narrative so well. While true that Israel was supporting those forces in various ways, the actual killing was done by a Lebanese Christian militia, not the IDF. Now let the down-voting begin...
