How much do you think the mossad would want to capture a private 747 and fly it to the Hague?
SpartaWolf117
lock him up! lock him up!

"new" is important there. They've been trying to cripple the ICC since February at the least https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2025/02/12/2025-02612/imposing-sanctions-on-the-international-criminal-court ICC employees couldn't access their emails anymore, payments going through US companies were blocked, people couldn't visit family in the US anymore for fear of getting arrested,... This is just the newest batch of sanctions added to the mess.
conklin5
I call the police all the time to tell them I didn't commit any crimes. Just trying to do my part by letting them know where not to look.
taez555
Everyone on Reddit keep telling me the ICC can't do anything to Trump cuz Trump doesn't recognize the ICC. Which is like saying I can't be arrested if I don't recognize the police as legitimate.
CuntCrotchula
Like sovereign citizens if they had a massive military

The ICC can prosecute anyone who committed war crimes if the crimes were committed in a country under ICC's jurisdiction. So even if the US doesn't recognize the ICC, a US national can be prosecuted by them. The ICC won't be able to take action inside the US if he's found guilty but if he ever steps foot in a member state he can be in trouble. That is his fear.
AnOceanOfStars
It's the same as with the EU. Both are organizations that can't directly do anything (formally) against the shitstain and its filthy associates in most situations, but they can have many very troublesome indirect effects, and in certain cases heavy direct effects.
And that's why fascists want to tear them apart.
medimr
Tell the world you know you're committing war crimes without telling the world. They're all scum.
xj4low
But the admin says he isn't breaking any laws and is the most transparent president ever.
xj4low
I was barely able to type that without laughing due to being in survival mode for the last year.
spattr
If Trump croaks in office that will immunize him against further criminal prosecutions. Sounds like a plan.
SwissScars
Some body help make this his most successful plan ever - many important people will say so afterwards.
fractalsphere
Oh yeah this is what an innocent person would do! Absolutely!
theworldcouldbeflat
@OP Reuters is one of the Nazi converts posting fake news for Trump.

Well, then if a sycophant speaks against its master it bears even more weight.

This story didn't happen, and just wouldn't happen. Trump wouldn't apologize for Gavin Newsom, why would Canada be different.
swedeonamoose
Umm you are supposed to do that after a case is started, cuz doing it before just makes ya look extremely fucking guilty.
jeejeejerrycotton
I don't understand your reasoning here. Trump is guilty. He knows he's guilty. He knows his supporters know he's guilty - and they revel in it. He knows normal people know he's guilty - and he revels in the full knowledge they won't do anything about it. (The only thing they COULD do about it is Carrero Blanco his ass but they won't.)
swedeonamoose
I mean in the end it dosnt matter, even before Trump the US couldnt care less about the ICC so unless the american people hogtie Trump and send him over to us no case would ever get anywhere.
jeejeejerrycotton
True. The only reason people from the USA are bitching and moaning about their current regime is because it's doing unto them what every regime before has done to foreigners (all Americans see foreigners as less than human).
myth1250
All…? I can tell you for fact you are wrong. Source: am American and like almost all of the foreigner I’ve met in person in my life.
