AI "art" is here and is growing, but no one has embraced it quite as widely as the political right. This exerpt from a recent Thought Slime video (I think) explains why that may be.
The full video is here: https://youtu.be/xLBPP51n17A
It's a good video but largely avoids AI art as a main topic, though. So if that's what you're interested in, this ain't it. The AI commentary was just a tangent.

god i love thought slime

They want art for free. Art isn't considered "real work," so why should anyone get real money? Just like buying American flags made in China, whatever is cheapest for the message is fine.

The worst of it all is creative theft.
As AI gets better, it will steal human works and modify them for different contexts, fooling most people. And it will do it for free, cutting into the value of real art. This means there will be fewer people becoming really talented artists, because there's no useful career in it. AI will be the death of true human art... unless it's seriously resisted.

"noone has embraced it as widely as the political right"
... No
Nobody has embraced it as publicly and politically as the right.
But porn artists, fan artists, people that wish they were porn or fan artists, Xiao Hong Shu users, people who use it for memes like wizards in dominos restaurants....
All these groups have used it more often, more widely and with more varied motives than the political right.
DocBenny
porn artists and fan artists loathe it with a passion, people that wish they were porn or fan artists keep singing its praise. big difference.

Yeah, but you can use something without embracing it. /s

Porn artists don't like it because it steals their work. And I rarely see fans responding well to AI art. When Toriyama died, people on the dragon ball subs posted fan art in his memory and almost every comment on the AI slop was very critical.
Scobragon
That's honestly the biggest problem AI art has, it's literally a lower effort tracing, and it's leeching off people's actual years of practice. Those people posting AI shit on the Dragon Ball forums lack the self awareness that they're using his own hard work practicing drawing to make a shitty soulless tribute. AI "artists" such scum...

Oh, I didn't realise people only did things that other people liked. Weird.

Im saying that fan artists didn’t embrace it. Some people who want fan art without having to make it or pay for it may like it, but fan artists aren’t fans of it.
