NOTE: I only use this at night when my neighborhood is sketchy. I don't endorse doing this over exercising, but be safe

So here is the GIF. not super interesting, just a normal ceiling fan with a ribbon on it

Here is my phone attached to the rig while still. I have cross rubber bands with the ribbon tied to each band individually and both together.

Here's the ribbon sans phone

Here's how it attaches to the blade. I haven't had any issues with it flying off or even seeming dangerous, I just get a little wigged out trying to walk underneath it.

AGAIN I don't do this when I could be out walking, but when it would be unsafe for a 5'4" woman to be out walking by myself at night. Get more exercise like the game intends, but stay safe when you gotta hatch them all.

Yes! I agree, I do this at night when it's not safe to be out walking alone.

This shouldn't work if your actually serious. It's based on distance traveled on the map. Spinning around in place doesn't/shouldn't work

Actually it does! It has to be going fast for centrifugal force, and the string long enough and when you watch it your avatar is walking

there is an app for that (so I have been told)

In circles, but still

How can you watch where your avatar is walking if your phone is spinning around the room at 80mph?

I showed it at the highest speed, I keep it one lower and it's easier to see and less of a death trap if something goes wrong

Sometimes when I see posts like this I wonder if my eggs only come out nice because I walk long distances.
