I’ve always been enamored by Shackleton’s South Pole expedition and was really interested to hear a few years back that they had recovered a few cases of the Scotch whiskey that had been part of the provisions.
Today I found this recreated blend at my local store and thought I’d give it a try; not too bad for a blend.

I never got that " for a blend"" statement. Single malts are great but blends can be just as good Compass box makes some good blends

I think the argument is the best whiskeys are used for single malts. Blends tend to take several of lesser quality. Of course, exceptions...

How dare you put ice in that.

It's not a single malt, Hakuna your tatas. Besides, he is drinking it, how dare you tell him how to enjoy himself

How dare you how dare me.

That seems a pretty loose definition of drinking Shakleton's whiskey and more a marketing ploy to make money

Hey, if the Hobbits can make a beer, so can a polar explorer.

I had a Sam Adam's Boston lager today, I wouldn't say I drank Sam Adam's beer.

HoochIsCrazzy
Never said it was nasty.

Don't feel bad, read "The Billionaire's Vinegar" about how Bill Koch (yes that Koch family) got dupted into paying ~$500k for bottles (1/?)

of wine from Thomas Jefferson's collection that were complete frauds. And if you don't like reading, it is being made into a movie.

Nice; I’ve read Larry Olmstead’s Real Food Fake Food, fascinating stuff. Kobe beef and all that.
HoochIsCrazzy
I haven't read that one, thanks for the pointer +1
