Breach of contract, perhaps?

If this is the case, let's see if Disney has the balls to enforce the contract. Else this will open the door for any other stations do do as they please.

Local TV station here was a MeTV affiliate and would not air Wonder Woman reruns on Sunday mornings. It happens all of the time.

It's very not uncommon for local affiliates to not air certain content that they find objectionable. The contract with ABC is about rights to air, not a requirement to do so.

Sinclair has decided to go full fash - that's on them. I'm kinda fascinated that anyone still watches broadcast or cable anymore anyway. Dinosaurs gonna dinosaur.

Affiliates maintain ultimate control and can preempt any network programming, it's illegal for networks to penalize affiliates for preempting programing. https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/47/73.658

Thanks for this useful info!

Pull the ABC affiliation & award it to an independent station. Now Sinclair owns a chain of stations showing home shopping.

Usually locals have to pay the bribe to the networks, not the other way around. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8hgjFPtxk8

I wonder how many stations actually commented and what the comments were?

Sinclair and Nexstar have already reached out to the FCC asking them to intervene on their behalf. I'm sure they will maintain the level of neutrality we have come to expect from partisan hacks.

Once in power, the Fascist, the National Socialist, the Francoist, and the Hungarian media policy followed the idea that the total control of the media would secure the total control over the people.

Same with the USSR, North Korea, Cuba...

Sinclair is trying to have a merger that will need FTC approval to be allowed.
Thus, they are bending over backwards to kiss the ring of the Administration.
So that their merger doesn't get blocked.

ABC lifted Kimmel's suspension with his shows to return to the air Tuesday. Sinclair Media and Nexstar have announced that on the ABC affiliates that they own they will preempt that timeslot with local news.

Continue boycotting these fuckers. How dare they infringe upon freedom of speech.

Thus ensuring boycotts will never work again, brilliant fucking plan.

Elaborate, cause I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or you're thought process is going to a different place. Cause last I heard whenever an organization does something stupid like infringe upon our constitutional rights and people boycott it usually the organization loses good money and has to figure it out ie Disney bringing back Jimmy. If you're thinking boycott everything and then it won't mean anything, that sounds ridiculous.

And if you continue the boycott after they fixed their mistake, why would anyone else ever give in to future boycotts? If they know they've lost your business no matter what they do, why would they change back? My thought process is actually happening, yours and the rest of imgur never happened at all.

Money and greed. They literally only did it cause they were losing subscribers stupid fast. Now two subcontractors are saying they won't show kimmel's show in areas they host and disney can lawsuit or cave to them, yet they hesitate? Why do you think that in any sense is ok? Plus they plan to increase the cost next month, are you actually ok with that? There's no reason for it. Don't fall for nonsense like oh they're gonna let him on again, democracy saved! Don't be stupid, use your brain! 😘
