Once you get bots everything becomes easier

My husband also likes Factorio, and agrees that the train signals are ass.

The factory must... wait, why is it christmas again?

Get to fulgora and you won't need signals anymore.

Yeah, those train signals take a lil to get figured out but they do good work. I set up a massive rail network/grid system. Inside each square you setup loading and unloading spots and the factory and its own drone zone if needed. The grid includes tracks, power, and drone stations so you can copy paste it as much as needed and it'll build itself from the mall grid.

I picked up Stray. It’s fantastic

I will probably grab it on a sale at some point, looks nice.

The factory must grow. The factory must grow. Wait why aren't my trains running?

:( too often

I love factorio, but I too hate the trains. If you're willing to slog through things tho, you can actually play and beat it without trains at all. It just means putting down a LOT of belts

The fun part of factorio is, if you stop trying to think, you can always find a blueprint where somebody else did the thinking for you.

You can always break it down and figure out how it worked when you can think again.

Sounds like a cool game. I've been getting more into chess lately. Used to play it a lot when I was a kid. It's great for flexing the old noggin.

I wish I could get into these types of games. But it always just feels like work to me. Like, you gotta mine this to build that to unlock the thing that lets you do the other thing that will let you mine faster so that you can build the thing so that....

lol yeah I get that, kinda able to make that style of point about just about anything lol, just got to find the one that speaks to you.

Yeah, they can feel like work, until you start thinking of it as a puzzle to figure out. When it feels like work I stop for awhile.

That said, I’ve done everything there is to do in Factorio aside from perfecting everything, and have no real desire to play it again

Not much different than a RPG. Got to kill the goblin to get the gold to buy the iron sword so you can kill the ogre to get the gold to buy the mythrl sword...

Yeah, and I feel exactly the same about them too, annoyingly. I played the first act of Baulders Gate 3, incredible game, no complaints. 9/10 at least. Went to bed after a session and never went back. Pretty sure I will at some point though.

Train signals, bah. I’m too lazy for that, I just build separate train lines with loops at the ends

too true lol

Trains and signals are easy.

Thinking more like hurled iron and coal lol

The problem I have with factorio is that I get paralysed by pursuing perfection, when the whole point of the game is too be good enough and improve as you go.

same, always looking at others stuff and thinking thats what I need! NO! I need to go and do, learn, fuck up, and do again :)

Man, Factorio is fun but I'm a Satisfactory sucker 😁

This right here.

I do love that too!

FortressCraft for me, waiting for Phoenix to come out.
What can I say, for me it just works.

Never played factories but I have many more hours in Foundry than Satisfactory

Suckerfactory?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I played that earlier this year with a friend. First factory game I ever "completed" in the sense of reaching the ultimate end goal.

Same here, I do love Satisfactory, but my early stuff is so spaghetti. I refuse to start over, so it's just gradual rebuilds to clean up.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Total spaghetti here. I gave up on any transportation system until drones, it’s all conveyor spaghetti until then. And I found ziplines to be faster to build and use than hypertubes

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just wish they had a faster way to build conveyor/pipeline stacks. Or just scrap the pole supports altogether and make them automatically stack

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm with you on that. I never quite got the hang of the zipline system, though. I used to have trucks running to pick up my quartz from the cave mine, but they've changed the map a couple times and now the transport system, so I'll have to look into replacing those routes entirely. The only train setup I've got runs from the start locale along the coast out to the 4 oil well islands, which is fed aluminum via conveyor that runs all the way up the cliff faces to the top of the rocks.

I haven't gotten into anything nuclear yet, don't want to touch it until everything is in place for safe/clean disposal, but I do have my entire power grid being run by turbofuel generators now.
