The sights I see when going on a walk through nature in our beautiful Washington weather!

With all the rain these past few days, it's nice to see the creek bed full of running water again.

Wanting to improve my health and cut my covid weight back down, I started going on semi daily walks.

There's plenty of lakes and nature trails where I live.

If there are powerlines, it makes sense to allow easy access through.

This trail cuts right through, from downtown to the edge where one city meets another.

It's nice to see how well maintained the area is.

These signs are brand new. I actually walked past the people installing these last week.

There's Panther Lake, peaking through the trees.

There's an elevated wetland trail I go through that ends at another lake with a big bat house. I like to visit in the evening to try and spot them heading out for the night.

More native plant displays.

Taking a right to head down to the beach.

The center top picture is what the lake looks like in the dry months.

Quite a bit different now that the wet season is here! There's a bench right behind me. It's where I like to 'hang out' with my friends.

More green trails.

And the trees we're known for.

Neat little infographic on the purposes of the local infrastructure.

And of course... Squirrels!!! They are everywhere!

The trail wraps around, so this is a picture from the opposite side to the little beach area.

The elevated section acts as a flood break to protect the privately owned park on the left from the public area on the right.

My route has me go 'backwards' lol.

Basic info, but I figured I should be thorough.

Local shrine that finished construction this year. While I have only been inside once, I also am very aware that within those vision blocking walls is a very popular location to hook up.

A little closer because I didn't want to accidentally take more pictures of people.

The Aquatic Center through the dense trees.

I can confirm that there are ways more than just those!

The full nature trail around one of the many lakes in the middle of the city. One of the things that made me so depressed when I was living in Georgia or Texas was the complete lack of nature trails like these. Like sure, there are nature spots, but you always have to drive to go to them. Here in Washington, they are literally everywhere to the point that people complain about spending taxes to maintain these trails...

Anyways, thats my Washington State propaganda. I love my home.

Neat! And thanks to #7 I learned that fern spores help against nettle stings, huh!

As a kid going camping with my family, it was my dad who taught me that. The other kids I grew up with swore on slug slime, but I'm not sure about that one!

Same! I already left before and after coming back, I'd rather not leave again.
