Folk dance from Chaosan, China.

*Sorry, lobster dance vs clams.

Fire breathing seafood wasn't on my bingo card for 2026

In the dim and distant past, the oceans were ruled by clamosaurs and oysterettes.

This is the content Netflix should be making.

At what point in the show is the rice fried?

You can see them carrying the fire - they must be going to the stove. Video ends too early.

the shrimp are too busy chasing the clams to be able to fry your rice

Can't you even appreciate the song and dance before cooking starts?

Oh shit, random "B.C." comic!

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So I've been hoarding that comic frame for 43 years (or thereabouts) in the forlorn hope that one day, one bright and shiny day, there will be post on Imgur featuring clams - WITH LEGS no less - so that finally, I can proudly roll out my carefully curated collectible and that's what I get? Random? RANDOM you say? Outrageous, I say!

My apologies internet stranger, this was not to discount your contribution! Perhaps "random" was not the correct wording. Unexpected would be better! I love BC and have never seen it in the wild, so I was pleasantly surprised!

Heheh. I too love BC (perhaps obviously) and the clam sequence was one of my all time favourites so in fact I had been holding that one for just the right moment. Not quite 43 years though. May your days be full of pleasant surprises.

They look more like crayfish to me

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

That’s the lobster much of the world is used to..

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure they're supposed to be mantis shrimp.

I think these are spiny lobsters.

Agreed

Curious where you live that those names are interchangeable?

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Where I live (South Australia), these crustaceans would just be called "crayfish", or may possibly be called "lobster" in some restaurants. I understand that the term "crayfish" also applies to freshwater crayfish, which we would call "yabbies" and people in the US would call "crawfish" or "crawdads"

Holy fuck I played an indie AU game and it was great but I couldn't figure out what a yabbie was for the life of me and there was no pic to match it.

I was like FUCK IT, WE EATIN YABBIES. WHATEVER THE FUCK THOSE ARE.

Interesting. In the states we reserve the term crayfish or crawfish for freshwater species. I'd never heard them being interchangeable with lobster before. Thanks for the info.
