Better get started, then.

This machine is outmoded, but can be effective in limited capacity.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I shot an M1 in 1967, when I was 15 (at targets, not Fascists, by the way) and found it to be accurate, well balanced, but a little heavy for me at that age.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nobody liked carrying one. Best used off a rest, for accuracy with iron sights. Then weight doesn't matter, besides giving your shoulder a bit of a break.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That doesn't kill fascists. It creates fascists. Courage is what kills fascists. The kids standing up to ICE with their glitter bombs is what kills fascists. The simple act of standing up and saying this is wrong is what kills fascists. Rosa Parks killed fascism by refusing to give up her seat. A gun is just a tool. Its the heart that wields it that is the weapon.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 7

The glitter thing was apparently just intentional misinformation. Also I think you are not aware that peaceful protests have very rarely actually worked. If there hadn't been violent uprising, like American slaves uprisings, there would have been no Rosa Parks. You can't talk to fascists and appeal to logic since they have no qualms in living illogical lives, which is the basis of fascism. Ideology doesn't need logic.

No, that's one of several machines that make folk music.

I have one of those! An american GI gave it to my great-uncle somewhere in the pacific theatre during ww2. Well, he probably looted it off a GI's body. I did have to get it completely disabled to legally keep it after our gun restriction laws were brought in though.

My thumb hurts just looking at this image.

This machine plays folk music

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And remember ; a little to the right this time

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

10 centimeters to the right.

Remember, your grandparents, or maybe great grandparents, knew how to handle fascists. Don't let them down.

Woody Guthrie was a legend!

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It’s such a satisfying ding. I really need to get one.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Yes you should. More than one, in fact.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Communists too

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 8

In almost equal numbers too, impressive.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It kills indiscriminately. Social philosophy means nothing to it

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 15

I'd say you're fun at parties, but you don't seem like the type to get a ton of invites.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

It really doesn't, it's very discriminatory in killing just the people directly infront of it

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

This has a better purpose than the orphan crushing machine.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To be fairrrrrrrr....kills most things.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

and it is aesthetically pleasing.

1 year ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 3

down side is its illegal to walk around with loaded. you have to get some spicy pistols. you can walk around with 20+1 of these ATF legal bois in a pistol.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Greek soldiers, specifically those in the Presidential Guard (Evzones), use garands. I think because they are so pretty.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The arch in the background makes the middle guy look like he has twin ponytails.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Enemy would use the ping as the time to move or fire. They had about 10 seconds.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Given the effective ranges of most firefights, I doubt most enemies on the receiving end of the Garands can really hear the pings, especially if they're firing back.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I quote german soldiers recalling forests of 1944-45. Long ago I ejected M1 clips many times at ranges. Your doubts ?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd argue a Sig is much more visually pleasing, but then again, I am biased with machinery.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Which sig?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's like asking me what my favourite colour is... I don't have a single answer for that, but let's just compare the image to an SL-5. Boom.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The shotgun? Or, is there a ww2 SL-5 I'm not picturing?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And audibly pleasing. PING!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 118 Dislikes 1

And what sort of thing is that?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're going to post a gif featuring an onomatopoeia without SOUND! You're a monster.

The machine that tells us that the baby is alive!

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I can't find it but someone made a manga (at least one page anyway) of a girl who is a mosin nagant. I just remember her leaning in to someone's ear and whispering "ping"

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

M1 and Mosin are two very different animals.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah I meant garand not sure why I said mosin.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*garand not nagant

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It does not got ding, it goes PING!

1 year ago | Likes 301 Dislikes 1

I think we need to ping 127.0.0.1

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The rule of thumb when loading an m1 garand is.. hehehehe..

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Doesn't matter what sound it makes. You won't hear it. You just put 8 .30-06-sized holes in 8 different Nazis. You can't hear fuck.

I fucking love mine anyways.

1 year ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 3

Can't hear it over the sound of you cursing after getting your thumb smashed in it

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You don't hear the ping, you feel it in your heart. Unless you're a nazi, then you just feel the 30-06 in your heart

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Look at moneybags here able to afford filling the whole enbloc.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I handload for that reason lol.

I can't afford to buy that much factory .30-06

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Started rolling my own to save money. Ended up rolling my own to shoot more/nicer ammo that doesn't save me money...

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can you use the FMJ or whatever COD perk it's now called for increased bullet penetration so that you can double that amount and put 16 30.-06-sized holes in 16 different Nazis with the same 8 bullets?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FMJ is short for full metal jacket, which is standard issue for military. Think HPs and jHPs are actually considered a war crime. But it's cheaply made ammo and does less damage to its target due to its tendency to overpenetrate

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I know what FMJ is so I added "whatever COD perk it's now called" to specify that I was making a stupid nerdy video game reference rather than contributing actual proper discussion about firearms. In COD MW2 (old one) FMJ was considered a weapon "modification" (lmao) and added increased bullet penetration for the player, which might also increase the chance of Double Kill should there be an enemy standing behind your first target.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah yeah, fair enough. Hard to tell, especially with something like firearms where there is a *lot* of misunderstanding/misconception. Lol I do remember that, though. The fact it was an "upgrade" was super funny to me

I'm a communist and I have several. I recommend we learn to use them. The fascists know already.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I’m a dirty lefty and I have one. I’m just not larping in public with it.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You sure? Democrats don't parade in public with them.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Fire 7 and have the next mag on standby once you fire that 8th

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In close combat, reloading after the 7th, then throwing the empty clip on frozen ground, worked a treat. You had 8 up, when the enemy broke cover. I wasn't there, some pretty good writers helps us understand what one can, from a distance.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My family used Lee-Enfields for that sort of thing.

1 year ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 1

I have an M1, I would love to get a No. 4 Mk 1.

Hello, fellow Commonwealther

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Yep, mine too. Although dad was issued an SLR and SMG and a tank. I was issued a Steyr AUG. However i have a ww1 and ww2 lee enfield that i use for hunting.
I would like a mkV lee enfield jungle carbine.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fun fact: India was the last country to issue bolt action rifles for general military use. They were Lee-Enfields chambered in NATO standard .308.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was in India a few years ago, and the police I came across there were equipped with Lee-Enfields. Really cool up close in person, seeing it used in a contemporary context.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Until recently, the Canadian Rangers still used the Lee-Enfield, because modern firearms just can't handle the cold the same way.

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Partly that, partly because the Northern Rangers were kind of an after thought, performative sovereignty patrol

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They're already having to replace the new C-22s at a cost of 10 million dollars because the laminate stocks keep falling apart. The Rangers want their Enfields back.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I saw that, lol

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not so much a lack of modern options that can handle it. More that our budget and procurement process is a shitshow.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The modern option they replaced it with promptly failed, and is going to take 3 tears and ten mil to replace

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because they shit the bed selecting laminate stocks that weren't suitable to the conditions and our procurement process is a mess that inflates costs and timelines while failing to set or meet appropriate goals on the way. The wrong product being selected doesn't mean there are no right products.
