I'll say you do understand the scene. I am edgy at the thought of the same old politicians' lies working AGAIN (WMD!WMD!WMD!) to justify an endless war with Iran while being utterly dismissive of the cost of war on the people who fight. The same GOP chickenhawks then actively work to gut Veteran's benefits afterwards. The politicians will tell the public that "targeted strikes" will prevent boots on the ground, but that is never the case.
