The Late Show was for a long time a staple in my life. In one of my previous jobs i had to get up around 6 am to get ready for the office, By the time my morning bathroom routine was done they uploaded the monologue of him to Youtube, which had the perfect length of time to get dressed and i almost always had it running for years while starting my day.
I will miss him, i got sad when i watched the final episode and when the dust settles and he's ready i hope he returns somewhere to continue.
Colbert used to be awesome on the Colbert Report back when it was on Comedy Central. Then he changed networks, started wearing lipstick and went full corpo mainstream. I'm glad I got to know Colbert in his golden era, even if I had to watch what he became.
How to be an idiot 101- Allow the powers at be to alienate you from half of the other population to cause in fighting so they can continue to abuse power, and lie to you through tools like a Robert Reich. blech no thanks. Political fandom people are the worst XD
If you think Republicans and trumpers make up half you're off your rocker. Trump approval is around 1/3 and even then he is only around 85% with Republicans. FAR from half and yet every one of them deserves to get exactly what they've voted for.
The next administration had better make some massive, sweeping changes that include reinstating pre-Reagan antitrust regulations and smashing Paramount Skydance and all the other giant corporate molochs into a hundred little companies. Wrest the media from billionaire claws and get some healthy competition between small independent networks going again. And give them some tax funding in exchange for factual and reality-based news reporting.
Both Robert Reich and Stephen Colbert are class acts. They are intelligent, truthful and love our country. I appreciate when someone accurately points out that the emperor is not wearing any clothes.
