Yes, even those of us who voted for a different candidate are still responsible for the actions of our government.

Considering their gun laws, this isn't the first school full of kids the American voters are responsible for killing.

Wrong

If it doesn't matter how they vote, they're all still responsible, why does it matter if they're eligible to vote?

Rest of the world wasn't shooting their kids enough - we had to step in

And for those of you who can't parse the compensatory pitch black humor of someone trapped in this hell hole

indeed, but the punishment should be directed at the one who ordered it.

To an extent yes, but I wouldn't object to international sanctions against our entire country. When I say WE are responsible I really do mean all of us.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Yeah, dont agree. Trump cheated to get the win and dems didn't do enough to fight it and arent doing enough to fight now. All I can do is vote, because the alternative will most likely put me in prison or executed.

And outside the US, who is doing anything to stop this? Sure some are not participating, but by your logic, the whole world is essentially at fault and it just doesn't work like that.

You can do more than vote. And yes you might get arrested.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

That's not what I mean. At this point, the only way to stop them is with force. Protesting and voting won't be enough. Ill still do everything I possibly can, but I dont take blame for what Trump is doing.

Very brave of you to encourage others to commit violence against your elected officials from behind your keyboard, bud.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Didn't say violence.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

your responsibility is proportional to your influence, if you have no power over your gov't you aren't responsible for it

If an individual has done everything in their limited power to prevent a tragedy, should they still be held liable if the tragedy occurs?

A lot of people are definitely culpable for the clownshoes circus that Americans currently have instead of a government, but saying that ALL Americans are at fault is a bit of a stretch.

"Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,"

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Sure, but a lot of people have been actively working to prevent the kind of situation you're currently in, despite being at an enormous disadvantage due to the massive wealth, power, and influence of those who oppose them.

You're trying to lump them in with the people who voted for this regime, or couldn't be bothered to vote at all.

The government derives it's power from its people, we are its people. We are responsible for our governments actions.
Do you think other countries peoples are not responsible for their governments actions? Israel, Russia, China, Australia, Sweden etc... if those governments commit an atrocity are the people who empowered the government not responsible?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

You're doing an awful lot of work to avoid the point, bud.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Answer the question, are other countries citizens not responsible for their governments atrocities? Or is it just us?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I blame the ones who didn't vote at all, it's like 40 or 50 percent of people don't fucking vote. Fucking idiots.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Statistically at least 1/3 of those non-voters would have also voted for Trump.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly. 2/3 wouldn't have.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What if you factor people who didn't vote, but lived in deep blue non-swing states?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see your point. I'm just angry and hate everyone leave me alone

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you're paying taxes, you're paying for it.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not by choice. Big diff.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

You don't have a choice?

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They don't have a choice without consequences is what they mean.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I know that. There's still a choice though. We decide it's worth our personal comfort, not being in prison, etc... over dead kids.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know, just spelling it out.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I exercised it and get taxed anyway.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You could stop paying.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

You first.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Remind me what happens to you when you decide to stop paying taxes because you object to how the money is being used, bud.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

You go to prison. It's still a choice. We decide our own person safety and comfort are more important than dead kids. I'm not personally proud of it, as I make that choice myself, but I still understand it's a choice I make.

"If a mugger has a gun to your head, you still have a choice"

Sure, the choice is to hand over your wallet and live, or die and lose your wallet anyway.

Not much of a fucking choice, is it?

Here's the thing. Every time we have one of these incidents, a school or hospital gets bombed. Do you really think the entire US military is actively attacking schools and hospitals. Or is it the other side lying?

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It's not the other side. Our own military thinks it was us.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Which General said that?

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You should have read your own article

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I did. Oh here let me post the content so you and everyone else can read it: "U.S. military investigators believe it is likely that U.S. forces were responsible for an apparent strike on an Iranian girls' school that killed scores of children on Saturday but have not yet reached a final conclusion or completed their investigation, ‌two U.S. officials told Reuters."

But I do love how your initial stance is: America would never do a war crime.
