This is NOT a political post.  I work for the American Legion and through our Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) program, we've been able to put over $700K in the hands of our Coasties that are risking their lives and not getting paid.  Feel like I've done my good deed for the day.  But, tomorrow is another day and another opportunity to help out.

You mean you work for the Centralia thugs who want to establish a military political class above and outside American civil society?

"Coasties" is a derogatory term similar to Grunt, Squid or Jarhead.

Wrong. I am one and that's what we call ourselves.

Coasties, Grunt, Squid, Jarhead, and Zoomie are terms of endearment between the services. They're only derogatory if said by a non vet.

People living without an ability to save or with debts/bills greater than savings are screwed in the meantime.

USAA just just advances the money for people that bank with them. Navy Federal does the same. Shutdowns aren't new and should be planned for

Something is wrong if the system needs to plan for politicians to fail them...

Planning for failures is the Hallmark of a good safety net system.

I actually EXPECT our politicians to fail us. Doesn't matter the party affiliation, liberal, conservative, "independent" … I expect it.

That really speaks volumes about the calibre of politicians you elect.
