Dog's face at the end screams "Wait, we're done already?"

well, boarder collies are kinda like the rocket scientist, brain surgeons of the dog world.

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Collies are why competitive dog events like this typically have an ABC category, that stands for Anything But Collie 😂😂

Holy shit that dog is a speeding ninja and seems to be loving every bit of it.

It's only complaint that it wasn't long enough or challenging enough but Mom is proud so it's happy

1 month ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Incorrect. This dog lives for fucking around.

These border collies have frantic meth-head energy. The working border collies I've seen are like a different breed completely.

If you lived in pickerington you'd do nothing but train dogs, too. Well, that or fentanyl.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And on the other end of the spectrum you have Lobo the husky, who’s impressive for the complete opposite reason of being able to be trained, or more accurately convinced, to do a course at all.

I have seen this with a staffordshire bullterrier ... looked like a little meat missile flying around...

1 month ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Tbf that describes a lot of bully breeds in a lot of situations.

I played bass for Meat Missile

We tried it with a very feisty pug. It worked twice and then she figured out that the bars are lightweight plastic and not fixed in place..... Pugs are not afraid of ramming stuff with their face. And to be fair, it's a lot faster if you don't jump.

Pugs look like they're not afraid to ram stuff with their face. (And I thought you wrote "very feisty pig" at first)

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The difference is mostly the hooves vs paws tbh.

My wish is that that owner loves that dog as hard as that dog loves and wants to please their owner.

Greatest bumper sticker I've ever seen: Lord help me be the person my dog thinks I am.

1 month ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Border collies. The dog that loves to play. Even as a working farm dog everything is treated as play. Super super smart.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fur missile.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those dogs dial the fuck in and need to be all the time. A family member had one and he went absolutely bananas if he didn't have a command/work waiting for him to do.

Good dogs.

1 month ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Working dogs need shit to do, if you don’t give them jobs they will create jobs for themselves.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've said it over and over. Don't adopt a working dog if you aren't prepared to give it a job.

This is why I will never own a German shepherd. Amazing dogs but they would lose their damn minds living with me.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't know if you'll know this but border Collies are nuclear powered

1 month ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

I thought they were just perpetual energy machines.

How do you get to Ypsilanti and why?

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It depends on where you are starting from. I was born here

I'd love to see one where the human just stands still, dog needs no instruction, it knows exactly what to do

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I wanna see a world with Folarin Balogun making record time through the weave poles while a Malinois yaps at him and a whole arena of dogs bays in approval.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

With the competitions I know the order of obstacles/the course is not always the same and they don't have training opportunities for the dogs before the competition. The human handlers need to direct the dog during the competition. Unless of course the dog can see, read and understand the instructions for the humans.

ya, smart dog, i wanna see it. i bet a collie could do it

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when the judges tried to give this dog his medal they couldn't find him. he was already outside in the car with the engine running!

1 month ago | Likes 285 Dislikes 1

He's probably already at home, he knows the car would only slow him down

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not only they couldn't find Pink, the medal was also gone

1 month ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Heard= hearing something past tense. Herd= a group of animals (noun) or the act of moving a group of animals somewhere (verb). You mean the latter.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

... herd?

1 month ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Have you herd the good news?

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Herd what? Did someone say something?

1 month ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Oof that's gotta herd

Is this only a border collie competition? Otherwise this is kind of pointless for most other dogs.

1 month ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

Apparently in the AKC competitions, the divisions are named for the height of the jumps. The jumps are in 4 inch increments. The rules are a bit unclear, but it seems bigger dogs must compete at higher jump levels, so a malinois or cattle dog might have to jump higher (and thus be slower). I'll bet whippets or Italian greyhounds do pretty well too. https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/sports/agility-competition-101/

Shelties are very good at agility competitions too.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 month ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Apparently, there's a category for ABCs - Anything But Collies.

1 month ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Ibthink it's usually weight class? But obviously some breeds will dominate.
There's probably other classes that might enable other breeds to compete.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You might be surprised at the breeds that do well in agility competitions. Obviously working dogs like border collies, kelpies, and various sheepdogs do well but so do many terriers and even poodles. Wippets and the like would probably excel if you could find one motivated enough.

There aren't really breed divisions around here, they get divided by height (since taller jumps aren't fair for shortstacks) and experience level, but most of the leaders are usually working dogs of some sort.

I am constantly amazed by the athleticism of my Boston terrier. They don't have anything that compares to the speed of this border collie but they do all right in agility competition.

Ozsheps are just gay border collies, change my mind.

1 month ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

If they were all gay, their bloodline would have died off.

1 month ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Not if they recruit border collie puppies by subliminal messaging in dog-food advertising and fluoride in the tap water. Checkmate, atheists!
