I actually liked the movie back then and still do. I also found Rob Schneider to be annoying, but I always didn't really care for him and now he's a raving antivaxxer maga supporter.

Unpopular opinion, this version of dread understood the satire that dredd was supposed to carry better than the 2012 film. The sad thing is so much of what exaggerated to absurd levels in the 80s has basically come to fruition. The warnings of dredd as an exaggerated police state where cops have final authority over everything seemed silly four and a half decades ago but cops shooting people that were innocent, and supporting rampant corruption while "just doing their job" is well reality now.

I don't know this is the first time I've ever posted about the 2012 Dredd not really doing Judge Dredd properly that I haven't been down voted to hell for saying it. People like Karl Urban.
