MAGA is a racist, fascist movement that wants to destroy democracy and our civil rights. Don't look for logic or reasoning or even practicality in their policy. It's not even worth it to point out the "gotchas" anymore. Not once have they ever argued in good faith, but they're certainly happy to keep us busy with debates that go nowhere. No, words will not solve this problem. They have the courts, they own congress, they own the white house. No, words will not solve this problem.

Words will not solve the problem with the fascists, and nobody should expect them to - BUT we should still keep the words on hand because the alternative is unmitigated fascist propaganda flooding the heads of everyone who has somehow managed to not pay attention and converting them into good little fascist trolls too.
It's not to convince the fascists that we use words, but to try and save some of the regular joes and janes who figure that *surely* it can't be that bad, right?

Those regular joes and janes are a lost cause. There is not a cockroach in all of north america that hasn't heard of Trump, what he's done, and what the GOP is doing. The ones who pretend to be on the fence are bald-faced liars who won't openly admit that they want fascism. And the ones who are supposedly still confused and out of the loop? You're not going to reach those people. To make it this far and still be unaware they'd either need to be in a coma or have a teflon-smooth brain.

By a quick Googling, 65.3% of the eligible population voted in 2024. Tens of millions of people said "Meh" to the entire election. I'm not sure even the most hardcore voter suppression they could get away with at that time could account for all of them.
Some people really do have teflon-smooth brains, and/or will never, ever care unless it affects *them*. And they need to be taught that yes, fascism WILL affect them.
I don't like those people but sometimes you need anyone you can get.

I don't think we have the time to waste trying to recruit people who are going to act like total potatoes. They think that voting is too much effort, so a full blown political movement is definitely off the table. If Paul Revere rode through their town they would have yelled at him for making too much noise and gone back to bed. We need people on board who are ready to put on pants and act. The legal system is crumbling and I hope you recognize what comes next under the circumstances.
