Exactly. As frustrating as it is measured response is the only reasonable process. And without some kind of safety net for protestors or fighters, action will be hampered. The answer is to collectively create a safety net *for a general strike*. Until the US has that level of cohesion the process must be abou building coalitions, esp at the state level.

Most revolutions have caused thousands of deaths. Yet some succeeded. Not those that didn't even start because the people were too scared tho. Those times of non-revolution are being described in history books using words like complicit, passive, scared. At best, mostly the respective people are seen as well represented by their government. It's what the people apparently wanted then.

I live near the Twin Cities. I've never been more proud of my country than I am today, watching the resistance to Confederate occupation.
Federal morale is breaking and we haven't even had to string up one thug.
Nationalist extremism has been made toxic for at least a generation.
I have hope that it might be a permanent change, especially after the camps in Texas are emptied.

Lot of folks just do not understand how different the US is. Our gun culture is insane. Our traffic police carry guns. The US is freaking huge. And you'll find a rabid MAGA on every block, at the least. There is no one great united leftist front.
The protests in Georgia were amazing. If we pulled a fireworks gatling gun, every single protester would be a dead protester.

I'd say lots of Americans don't understand how similar things are, how not at all unique. A few examples.
Russia had two revolutions that overthrew their system. Russia is bigger than the US.
Not everyone had guns in the German revolution of 1918/19, but those from the right that took to the street did. Functionally no difference.
Most cops in most countries are armed. Including traffic police.
A united left is a very rare thing, and dangerous supporters of the other side always exist.
