But... is it for real illegal to own pet ferrets in California?

Mr. Anderson....

What happened here? o.O

Absolutely LOVE. THIS. SHOW.

I have ferret ptsd, those little mother fuckers should be illegal. They smell like shit and they steal shit like no one's business... especially not a business of ferrets. Waking up every other day to a ferret hissing in MY face on MY chest is bullshit! It's not cute Leslie! Keep your goddamn fur-snakes locked the fuck up!

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Well we're gonna have to agree to disagree. Leslie, if you're out there, I'd *love* to have you wake me up every other day with cute little ferret faces staring at me!

But I do respect your choice. The smell can be an issue if the owner doesn't take proper care of them.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It would attack my face in my sleep. It cold get under my door. We're gonna agree to agree you weren't there. It's not cute Relsky!

Annnnnngie Tribeca

Very good job at original Police Quest humour. Probably better than the new naked gun, but it was still good

11 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I think you mean Police Squad. Police Quest was an adventure game series that took itself pretty seriously. Space Quest was the silly/funny one, not to be confused with Galaxy Quest.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do mean Police Squad, and I played Police Quest like Drebin, so this is where I, with a lack of sleep confused this haha

I use to have an old ferret and a young ferret. The old one I was worried that she was dead all the time. Their stuff was in a spare bathroom so we could spray it all down every few weeks.

What's the name of the show? I can't remember...

It was just so weird I couldn't get into it, even though it had a great cast.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you not like dumb humor or did you feel it wasnt done well?

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just don't think it clicked for me. It was maybe too dumb or it just didn't feel funny? Like I've for sure laughed at dumb humor before so I think it just wasn't for me.

11 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

The Old Spice bodywash guy is there too!

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are we sure that's Sam Jackson or just a lookalike? The scowl looks uncanny.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I also thought it was Samuel Jackson at first, but I'm pretty sure it's not

I am a simple man, regular deep sleep, being kissed awake by a blonde. This ferret was won at life.

'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This ferret is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-FERRET!!

11 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

A/Why the hell did you want to wake him up
B/ why the hell does an Australian want that many ferrets?
They are an introduced pest and if they get away would kill thousands of natives each.
Can't believe anyone would be so careless.

Just this summer they passed a key hurdle to make ferrets legal again. Basically CA was afraid of feral populations of ferrets which if you don't understand, Ferrets cannot live in the california heat.

11 months ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

Already possible, you just need a license/exemption from fish and game, vet certificate of spay/nueter, and a ferret proofed house. Makes it a bit cost prohibitive for many though, but ferrets are already an expensive pet.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve had a pet ferret. They have zero survival instincts.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just make it so you can get a license, don't license ferrets that aren't spayed/neutered. Not all of California is hot...

Most ferrets wouldn't know how to hunt or find fresh water. How would they get hammocks, out in the wild? Who is going to put out raisins?!

11 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Already is that way basically. You get an exemption from fish and game. Need to have them spayed and neutered, they go through a quarantine iirc, and your home is inspected for ferret proofing. And you can be held liable for ecological damages i believe. Cost a pretty penny, but ferrets are already pricey to take care of if cared for properly.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Meh, their food is expensive...because it has to have loads of protein and fat.

Good quality food is gonna cost you what, $4 a pound? $5 a pound?

Granted, they don't eat a ton of food as they're what, 2lbs for a female ferret (jill) and maybe 3 or 4 lbs for a male ferret (hob).

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Was thinking of their vet bills, ferret proofing/toys, and needing several due to being social animals. Also not sure about waste. Assuming they can be litter trained.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ferrets have a pretty short digestive tract. They can't digest corn or soy or any other plant based protein; it's gotta be animal based protein.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That makes sense for the LA region, but a good chunk of California doesn't see high temperatures, it's a balmy 65 year round where I live. Not to say I'm against ferrets, I love them. Just seems like odd reasoning.

11 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Heat is just one aspect. they just do not have the capability to live in the wild. they have to many complications as is and would die off quickly.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You are delusional.
They are a wild animal that has been domestic for a very short time.
They would definitely adapt before they died out.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

https://www.ferret-world.com/ferret-facts/wild-ferrets/ First sentence you Fucking Boner.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"The only place claiming to boast “wild ferrets” is New Zealand, but these ferrets are actually hybrids, an animal created by crossbreeding the domesticated ferret with the wild European polecat (Mustela putorius).

These hybrids have thrived in the wild so well that they are actually a pest in the country. However, they are genetically distinct from the domesticated ferret."
Where do you think the "wild " ferrets in New Zealand came from nobhead?
They are just ferrets.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

"In rural environments where likely prey (rodents, birds, frogs, rabbits, invertebrates, etc.) live, feral ferrets have a better chance. However, as quite small animals, they have a number of predators that think they look like a nice snack. This all means that ferrets can rarely survive without human intervention for long."
From your link, written by someone trying to reduce the likelihood that people will let their ferret go when they don't want it anymore.
You fucking boner.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

New Zealand ferrets were introduced in 1880, and they were bought from England, domesticated ferrets bought here with Irish and Welsh farm hands.
I had ferrets as a kid for hunting rabbits, lots of kids did.
They look exactly like these ferrets and were just as cuddly.
You fucking boner.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean how stupid are you to read that and think what? We let ferrets go and they crossbreed with kiwi or Kakapo ?
And you call me a boner, you just proved that they can live in the wild.
