Extra Life

Been a part of this community for a while now and I've come to learn that it is unpredictable. I have seen some great things come from the people here and I felt like sharing something that I've been doing for the past 4 years.

Extra Life is a fundraising event where Gamers of all types (PC, Console, Board, Dice, Card) raise money for their local Children's Hospital and then commit to a 24 hour gaming marathon in the Fall.

I have been participating in Extra Life for 4 years and volunteering at my local children's hospital for just over 2.

Phoenix Children's Hospital

This is the hospital that I volunteer at every Friday and where my fund raising efforts will go to. Last year Extra Life participants in Phoenix raised just over $50,000 for the hospital while Extra Life as a whole raised over 6 million dollars for hospitals around the country.

Donations can be made at http://www.extra-life.org/participant/AaronStrunk which goes towards my total. The good thing about Extra Life and CMNH is that 100% of all funds raised by an individual goes directly to the Children's Hospital that they support.

Phoenix Extra Life Guild

So Extra Life has what they call Guilds in a handful of cities around the country. The job of the Guilds is to promote Extra Life and get people to sign up and drive donations. The Phoenix Guild was just started this year and this is one of our first events.

It was a Smash Bros Tournament at a bar called EndGame in Tempe, Arizona.

Dog Tax

This is my dog Finley. He's half Scottie and half Poodle. He's now 3 years old and was a rescue that someone found in a school parking lot covered with fleas and ticks. As you can see, those days are long behind him.
